💙🐾HAPPY FRI-YAY GOTCHA DAY🐾💙
We had a GREAT week!!!!19 babies are now in their new homes!! NBCUniversal's month long Clear the Shelters adoption and fundraising extravaganza continues! Follow our Facebook and Instagram pages for all the action!

💛 Marlouse and Gisele - 2 of our one-eyed dogs - breeders reject them as not worthy of time and resources; These one-eyed sweet souls deserve wonderful homes and they got them this week - Marlouse adopted by the family of one of our GOFAR alumni!
💛 Stout - Surrendered with mama Sonoma and 7 siblings - littermates Shea, Sterling, Shazam and Spencer still looking for homes
💛 Coco K - Gorgeous Cane Corso pup surrendered to us with her sibling Turbo - Turbo still looking for a home
💛 Zeke - surrendered to us with sister Zara - both have homes now! Zeke patiently waited 175 for his forever home
💛 Major - adopted over 2 years ago. Major had an amazing home until tragedy struck his owner in the form of illness; he was surrendered back to us and adopted by a colleague from the business next door
💛 Winnie - surrendered to us and adopted by family of one of our GOFAR alumni
💛 Chantal – tiny senior surrendered to our vet with other dogs, we suspect they were used for breeding in the past
💛 Ernie - his mama came to use as part of a large hoarding case and delivered him and his brother Bert shortly after settling in
💛 Francis - found with Mama and littermates trying to survive in a junkyard
💛 And our fabulous Felines: Lotus and Jamey (Maine C***s from Marco Island hoarding case), Ariel (adopter of her 2 sisters came back for her), Panos, Grey, Chaz, Pedro, June and last, but not least Fifinella (adopted by one of our amazing volunteers)

I was found abandoned in a field with my 12 babies but I kept them safe until rescue arrived. Now it’s my turn to find a forever home. I'm around 3 years old, 56 lbs, and possibly a black and tan coonhound mix. I’m sweet, leash-trained, and love humans. I can be dog-selective, so a proper intro is important.

💔ANOTHER 🆘SOS 🆘 EMERGENCY SURGERY💔

This is a new one for us. Prince is only 10 months old, born into the hands of a backyard breeder that was arrested and is now serving jail time. It's a good place for him, except he left behind young kids to care for the dogs. As you can imagine a mix of unsterilized dogs and the absolute chaos that leads to 😔 The 19 yr old called begging for help as there was a lot of blood coming from Prince’s p🍆nis, and of course he had been left with no resources to help this poor dog. We are really not in a position to take on another medical case with the unknown costs - they tried calling many rescues and shelters in area and received zero help. So here we are again - unwilling to let this dog continue to suffer any longer. Turns out his boy part is literally broken and surgery is required. How in the world does this happen? Our vet said it appears as though Prince was mating with a female and they were pulled apart, resulting in this awful injury. We can't imagine the pain he is in🥲 He has gone in for surgery and we could really use help with yet another medical emergency...

Hi there! I’m Almond! My Mama Walnut and all 8 of us babies were brought to Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue from a rural county shelter that was over capacity. We got really great care here as we were growing, but they say I’m old enough now to find a family to call my own!

I am a very sweet puppy, about 8 months old or so as of the beginning of August with the most stunning blue eyes. My Mama is a beautiful, petite, brindle girl who resembles a Lab mixed with possibly a smaller hound (she weighs just under 40 pounds). I’m not sure who my daddy was. The shelter people think I’ll be a medium-sized pup when I’m full-grown. I get along well with other dogs and have been great with all the humans I’ve met. My handsome brother Sunny is also still looking for a home.

My $450 adoption fee is reduced to $225 thanks to the Clear The Shelters August promotion and includes my vet check, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, deworming and neuter. 💔 ANOTHER DUMPED BABY TERRIFIED & CONFUSED - ONYX IS AT ER VET NOW 💔
This is quite a story. 5 days ago a post was seen in Spanish about hearing cries and howls from bushes of an animal in distress. The post said these heartbreaking cries were heard for days and days, but no one could access or even get a real good view of the dog as the building was surrounded by a dense, swampy preserve. Sounds like a challenge for Gloria Cabal and friends so off they go with the trap and tasty, smelly food. Food stations were set up feeding and trapping all kinds of wildlife while hoping for the dog to surface, not to mention feeding all of the mosquitos with these new tasty humans. Finally the dog is seen on camera with a red collar. After learning his routine, the trap was set at midnight and he finally came in. Onyx is in ruff shape, but has a registered microchip. He has been continually passed around from his purchase in Winter Haven 5 years ago, then given away to a family who then game him away to another party in Miami, who then gave him away to someone who went to jail and then finally given to someone who completely disappeared for his final complete and utter failure by humans. He is all of 6 lbs and found a way to survive in a swamp for what we are told could have been as long as a month. He is traumatized, terrified, dehydrated and has issues with bodily functions and more than likely HW positive living in that mosquito filled place - that's all we see from the outside. We will need help with this ER bill - any small donation is appreciated 👇

Hello! My name is Ally. I was surrendered to Guardians because my family could no longer take care of me. I am a chihuahua / terrier mix about 13 years old and weigh around 13 lbs. I may be a senior, but you’re only as old as you feel, and I have a lot of s***k!

My foster mama says I'm housebroken, love going for short walks, playing fetch with my ball, and also just relaxing with the hoomans.

OUR FRIENDS AT Tikipub Fort Myers Beach AND ARE AT IT AGAIN HELPING US with their 🐠🚤first annual September Slam Fishing Tournament and 30% of proceeds will be donated to GOFAR!!
📆MARK YOUR CALENDARS: September 13th, 2025 from 7AM – 4PM
Open to all waters of LEE COUNTY! Participants can compete in either a boat or kayak. Scoring will be determined by CPR (catch-photo-release) using standardized measuring boards and a timestamped tournament app. Species will be slam-style fish only (redfish, snook, and trout.)
🥇🥈🥉1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be awarded in the Boat and Kayak categories separately.
