💔 Today my heart is heavy as I say goodbye to one of the most special dogs I’ve ever had the privilege of grooming.
Truly, a beautiful 12½-year-old Collie, passed away today. She was my absolute favorite girl, a beautiful soul dog. She was one of the original first dogs at Aussie and Friends Mobile Dog Grooming five years ago, and from that very first visit, she stole my heart.
I’ll never forget how her mom would say “Michelle is coming!” and Truly would plant herself by the door, waiting with such excitement. Her dad would say why is Truly by the door? Her mom would say I told her Michelle was coming 🩷 The moment she saw the van or spotted me, she’d let out that sweet high-pitched bark and paw at the glass door like she was trying to open it herself. She was so patient, so gentle, and so full of love. After every groom she’d prance around showing off — “Look at me, look at me!” — and my heart would just melt.
When her mom first booked her, I almost didn’t take the appointment because Longmont was 40 minutes away. I told myself I’d do it just once and then politely let them know I couldn’t continue… but the second I met Truly, she had my heart. I’ve happily driven those 40 minutes each way ever since, because she was worth every mile.
I will miss her more than words can say. Thank you, Truly, for the joy, the tail wags, and the special bond we shared. You weren’t just a client — you are family. ❤️
Rest easy, sweet girl. You were so loved by your family and everyone who knew you and will be forever in the hearts of all you’ve touched.
