I absolutely love Forrest Frank's new song, "Thankful".

The song is about being thankful for things that many people take for granted for everyday.

My shoes. I'VE BEEN WEARING A MIS-MATCHED SET FOR TWO DAYS. 😂😂😂🤣🤣

But I'm thankful that I even have shoes. Because at this point, I feel like I've lost my mind. 🫠🙃🥴

I have been feeling lightheaded and weak lately. I got checked out last week and found out my potassium is again low. But at least my blood pressure pills are keeping my high blood pressure in check.
I have had a chronic intermittent issue with low potassium, but it resolves easily by taking a daily gigantic potassium pill.

With Tony now healing at home... he's eating, drinking and acting normally...I feel like I can finally breathe and relax after 11 stressful days.

Thank you for being here when we needed you the most. 🙌😭❤️🥰

Solano County Animal Shelter sent 126 dogs to Miranda's "Rescue" in 2025.

I've been following this FB page intensely since the news broke out that 9* dogs were discovered to have been shot and buried on Shannon Miranda's property.

Eight dogs were dug up by two women animal advocates. The ninth dog was originally left behind with a leash still wrapped around his/ her neck because the women were too exhausted by all of the hand digging.

But lately I've had to take a break from the dogs being posted on the page. First it was dozens and now it's hundreds of dogs on the page. It's beyond heartbreaking. 💔💔💔

'Steven' is one of hundreds of dogs that still needs to be accounted for. Was he adopted or was he k*lled?

His post popped up on my FB feed just now. Steve was my late stepfather's name. I'm hoping our county shelter is looking into what happened to the 126 dogs that they transferred to Miranda's Rescue in just 2025 alone. 😥😥😦😦😓😓😢😢😢

Tony continues to do very well! He's eating small meals of cooked chicken throughout the day. He's drinking water and peeing, too.

We're waiting for big 💩 p**p that should happen soon.

Speaking of... we're developing a Tony sticker. Anyone interested in one? 🐾 ❤️💩

It's been ten emotional days, but folks...we have a FIGHTER in Tony!! 🐯💪💪💪

From being turned away at one vet hospital, then undergoing multiple surgeries at VEG and then becoming so septic and critical on Sunday where he underwent emergency surgery at UC Davis to coming home on Thursday!!

For a 10 year old dog to endure all of that and survive??!! It's called God is good and our prayers were answered.

Thank you for helping bring Tony home!!❤️🙌

For anyone interested in Tony's medical notes from UC Davis.... this is the short version of the assessment:
Tony developed septic peritonitis, a severe abdominal infection, because the stomach incision from his original sock-removal surgery came apart and leaked stomach contents into his abdomen.

This caused:
Serious infection throughout the abdomen
Severe inflammation and tissue damage
Areas of dead tissue (necrosis)
Risk of sepsis and organ dysfunction
During emergency surgery, the surgeons:
Repaired the failed stomach incision
Removed the damaged portion of his stomach (partial gastrectomy)
Thoroughly cleaned his abdomen
Removed his spleen (splenectomy)
Removed part of a liver lobe (partial liver lobectomy) because the tissues appeared abnormal or compromised
The veterinary team explained that septic peritonitis is a life-threatening condition with risks including recurrent infection, continued leakage, sepsis, organ failure, and death.

In plain English: Tony's first surgery site failed, causing a dangerous abdominal infection. UC Davis performed a major lifesaving surgery, removed damaged tissue, aggressively treated the infection, and Tony improved enough to come home.

Part of his liver was removed because the gastric fluids that leaked out damaged it. We're still waiting for the lab results of his spleen.

This is actually our third splenectomy experience in which a dog went in for surgery for one thing, but the surgeon saw an abnormal spleen and removed it as well.

Maybe his first surgery failed because his spleen also needed to be removed? I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason.

Vince and I are beyond grateful for all of your prayers and financial support. 💖
