Hi everyone! I'm home and resting.
I have a whole team of "nurses" attending to me.
🥴🥴🥴😂😂😂

I had a large lipoma about the size of a grapefruit that was removed from my back today. It had been growing and was becoming bothersome.

Thanks for all of the well-wishes!! ❤️❤️❤️

Everybody…. It’s usually one of the dogs goin’ to the vet for a tooth pull or acupuncture, but today it’s my love Thao.

Can we wish Ranch Momma Thao a speedy recovery. She’s having a minor procedure today and would love to hear from you all!

Rescue Day is just the beginning.

I'm so sick and tired of these other dog rescues who take in a high volume of dogs.. and then to be lost in the shuffle. There's rescues who have been recently been exposed and there's ones who still operate that need to be exposed and prosecuted.

Look at our Ernie now!!!!! Look at how he's interacting with the others and being comfortable with the volunteers in the barn. 👏👏👏

It's the day an animal is pulled from a shelter, removed from neglect, or taken out of an uncertain situation.

It's often emotional. It's dramatic. It's the moment that gets photographed, filmed, shared, and celebrated.

But the real rescue happens AFTER Rescue Day.

It happens in the days, weeks, months, and sometimes years that follow.

It's the veterinary appointments, the treatment of neglected medical conditions, the patience required to rebuild trust, and the daily commitment to helping an animal feel safe.

It's giving up my bedroom to a bunch of dogs. 😆

It's learning to live alongside other dogs. Learning to trust people again. Learning that a gentle hand means affection, not fear.

And THIS is what rescue looks like at Lucky Ones Ranch. ❤️

Our dogs aren't simply rescued and forgotten once the cameras stop rolling.

They're integrated into our sanctuary family. They develop friendships, establish routines, interact with our wonderful volunteers, and enjoy the freedom to simply be dogs.

They're not just surviving. They're thriving.

Some arrived frightened. Some arrived broken in body or spirit. Some had never known stability or kindness.

Today, they have a community of people who know their names, understand their personalities, respect their boundaries, and love them for who they are.

Rescue isn't a single event. It's a lifelong responsibility.

The most important part of a rescue story isn't the day an animal was saved.

It's the life they're living afterward. 🐾❤️

That's what we believe in at Lucky Ones Ranch.

Why does 830p feel like 10p now?!

Doing one more walkabout before going inside for the night.

Who am I kidding... the dogs still need to go out and play before bedtime!!

Adoring fans: A Golden, a Husky and a Heeleroo. So sweet!!!!

Me: I just see chaos 🥴🥴🥴

Doormat: "There's like a bunch of dogs in here"

Me: Yes. I am aware. 😂😂

Breakfast frenzy. They're pigging out!! 🐷🐷🐷

Big thanks to Vacaville Grocery Outlet and Debbie of Paradise Valley Estates for the produce donations.

And we're especially thankful to our volunteers who prep breakfast for our 21 pot belly pigs.

Dodger, Mikey, Bohdi and Sadie (my mom's dog) helped us pick pumpkins from our garden today.

It's pretty neat to be growing pumpkins, as well as gorgeous dahlias and zinnias!

🎸🐾 ROCK OUT FOR THE ANIMALS! LUCKY ONES RANCH NEEDS YOU! 🐾🎸

We have some exciting news to share!

Lucky Ones Ranch has been selected as one of TWO animal rescue organizations benefiting from this year's RESCUE ROCKS fundraiser! ❤️

On Sunday, November 1st, we're joining forces with Ripple Effect Animal Project for an afternoon of incredible LIVE MUSIC, great company, and a whole lot of love for rescued animals!

🎶 Featuring CAMP JEFF, an amazing group of musicians with connections to legendary bands including Boston, Jefferson Starship, the Eddie Money Band, and more!

❤️ WHY THIS EVENT MEANS SO MUCH TO US

Here at Lucky Ones Ranch, more than 110 rescued animals depend on us every single day.

Many came to us after experiencing neglect, abuse, abandonment, or simply because nobody else wanted them. We provide a forever home to 18 different species of animals.

Just this year, you've seen us work our magic with Jessie, Tony and Ernie! They are now doing fantastic.. mentally and physically!

But providing that forever home comes with enormous expenses. Hay, feed, veterinary bills, medications, farrier visits, and all the other necessities never stop.

That's why fundraisers like RESCUE ROCKS mean the world to us.

And the best part? 100% of the event proceeds go directly to the two beneficiary animal rescue organizations!

📅 Sunday, November 1, 2026
⏰ 2:00–5:30 PM (Doors open at 1 PM)

We're incredibly grateful to Lisa Sikes, the musicians, and everyone helping make this fundraiser possible.

And even if you can't attend, PLEASE SHARE this post! You never know which friend might love live music AND helping rescue animals.

Let's fill the place with animal lovers and make this an unforgettable afternoon! 🐾🎶🎷🎸❤️
