I’m sorry I’ve been a little MIA this past week, but life has been full!
I’ve had so many moments worth being present for. I was officially sworn in with our local court system after completing my Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) training, checked off some projects around the house, got our pop-up pool set up, and got some of the garden planted for the season.

I also ordered a new gadget the Sourdough Sidekick from King Arthur Baking Company to help keep my starter happy and strong during the busiest parts of the week. We’ve gained some new egg layers, have been making fresh guacamole almost daily thanks to avocado sales, and have spent as much time as possible soaking up the sunshine.

Been outside since 7am; we’ve done the chicken chores, had breakfast outside, watered the garden, set up a summer station, drove the ‘tractor’ 😉, expanded the summer station, fixed the umbrella 2,900 times, made a snack box, and built a mud pit for trucks. ☀️🪴🐓🚜

And it’s only 10:30. 🥹
I absolutely love this time of year and the magic of early childhood! The slow mornings, dirty hands, fresh air, little imaginations, and making an ordinary day feel like an adventure.

I found this old Showtime rotisserie oven at the thrift store a few weeks ago for $4.99 and decided to try it out today with a whole chicken.

Uhh where has this thing been all my life? 😭✨
Crispy skin, juicy chicken, and the house smells incredible. I understand the “set it and forget it” hype now.

Definitely feeling like this little thrifted gem is about to become a regular dinner rotation around here 🍗
And it’s going to be SO handy when we eventually do our own meat birds too.

If he is, he’s being suspiciously sweet and quiet about it for now so we will see.
