I recently completed my dog training certification through the Karen Pryor Academy, a leading program in positive reinforcement and humane training methods. Currently I offer private sessions, day training (board & train), and will hopefully be starting group classes soon.

Mulligan has been working hard on building a reliable recall while also learning to stay calm and focused around other dogs. 🐾

In this video you'll see him sprinting toward me and my dog Shelby, but the moment his owners call him he immediately turns around and comes right back to them. That's exactly the kind of response we're working toward: choosing his people, even when something exciting is happening!

Reliable recall is an important safety skill that can give your dog more freedom while keeping them safe. I'm so proud of the progress Mulligan and his family have made together!

My adorable new clients. I am working with Benji the beagle on dog reactivity, and I’m working with Sunny on obedience. Benji is really good at sitting pretty! Sunny was adopted from the Oregon Coast Humane Society recently and she is just a doll!

Doorbell = chaos? Not anymore!

When we first started working with Enzo, the sound of the doorbell sent him into full alert mode—barking, jumping, lunging, and racing to the door. While that reaction is common, it can be stressful for both dogs and their families.

Instead of simply trying to stop the barking, we've been teaching Enzo what *to do* instead.

By introducing a strong place behavior and pairing the sound of the doorbell with positive reinforcement, we're helping him learn that the doorbell predicts good things—not something to panic about. Now, instead of charging the door, he's learning to head to his place and wait calmly.

In this video, you'll see both Enzo and his sister, Gracie, relaxing on their place bed while the doorbell rings. This is the result of consistent practice, patience, and giving dogs a clear rewarding alternative behavior.

I'm so proud of Enzo's progress, and I can't wait to see how much more confidence he continues to build! 💙

🎉 Congratulations to Tanner on graduating from his training program! 🎉

When Tanner first started we had plenty to work on including leash pulling, barking, place training, and building better focus and self-control. Through consistency, patience, and lots of positive reinforcement Tanner has made incredible progress!

One of the biggest factors in Tanner's success has been his dedicated parents. They have put in so much time and effort practicing between sessions and it truly shows. Training doesn't end when the lesson is over, and Tanner's family has done an amazing job following through and helping him succeed.

Watching Tanner grow into a more confident, attentive, and well-mannered companion has been such a joy. I'm so proud of how far he has come and excited to see all the continued success ahead for this awesome pup and his family!

🎉 Congratulations to Tucker on completing his training program! 🎉

At almost 7 months old, Tucker is a fun, energetic adolescent who has made great progress during our time together. We focused on building impulse control, reducing jumping behaviors, and finding appropriate ways for him to channel all that puppy energy into positive outlets.

One of the biggest keys to success with young dogs like Tucker is making sure their physical and mental needs are being met. We worked on enrichment strategies and activities that help keep his mind engaged, provide healthy outlets for his energy, and set him up to make good choices throughout the day.

Tucker is incredibly lucky to have a mom who is dedicated to understanding his needs, enriching his life, and putting in the work to help him succeed. The effort and consistency she's shown throughout the training process have played a huge role in Tucker's progress.

Keep up the great work, Tucker! I can't wait to see all the amazing things you accomplish as you continue to grow. ❤️🐾

Remus graduated today!!! 🎓🐾❤️

This guy and his wonderful parents put in the work and it shows. Over the course of training, Remus made huge progress in all the areas that matter most for a calm, confident, and well-mannered dog.

We focused on place training to help him settle and relax, structured play to build better impulse control, loose leash walking for more enjoyable outings, and confidence-building exercises to help him navigate the world with more ease.

Watching his transformation has been incredibly rewarding. He’s more focused, more responsive, and much more confident in himself.

For those who don’t know me, I’m a professional dog trainer with hands-on experience working with a wide range of dogs, from young puppies to seniors, and from easygoing to more behaviorally complex cases. I’ve spent extensive time working in a shelter environment helping dogs with fear, reactivity, and confidence building, as well as preparing them for successful adoption into homes.

My training approach focuses on clear communication, building trust, and helping both dogs and their humans feel confident and successful.
I specialize in:
• Basic obedience (sit, down, leash skills, recall)
• Puppy foundations and socialization
• Behavior modification (reactivity, fear, overarousal)
• Confidence building and real world exposure

Pictured below is Chancey. He came from a hoarding case where he had never stepped foot outside, been on a leash, and overall lacked confidence from no socialization. He learned to walk on a leash, become more confident in himself, and eventually was adopted!
