Good morning! A few days ago, we were walking outside our garage and found this little one sitting in the grass! After quite the capture, they are safely inside.
Our new friend appears to be a dumped pet who at least found themselves in the yard of a small animal rescue. However, we are just rebuilding and were not properly equipped to take on a rabbit.
Rabbit rescues everywhere are overwhelmed, and we didn’t have the heart to ask the county shelter for help, as shelters are also overwhelmed with surrenders right now. While dumping a pet outside to fend for themselves is never a good thing, we are glad they (we have not checked the gender as we are allowing some decompress time) were found safe and sound.
We will need to eventually get this little one spayed or neutered, as well as out of the small temporary cage they are currently in. We were only supplied for chinchillas.
