Bubba’s is so much happier now that he and the other horses have range over the pasture again. Even with a pretty decent turnout area attached to his stall they all prefer their open roaming lol

Juliet (cremello) has been staying with us in Flagstaff this summer to escape the heat of Phoenix and she is just the sweetest thing ever! Her parents are actually the ones who rescued Cheveyo (left) his mom along with the additional mare who was also in foal when they were all left on the neighboring property of Juliet’s parents. Well it was Juliet’s mom’s birthday so we only thought it appropriate to send a birthday serenade with horrible singing 😂 but can we all take a moment to appreciate how the Chicho man is Not freaking out with a new foreign object hanging against his chest! 😮😬

When mom tries to clean his eyes he sprints away but when grandma does it he lays there like a little baby. Juice is getting his eyes flushed out with saline and then a warm rag compress is applied to get all the dirt out from his daily adventures. Unfortunately he’s prone to ulcers and has pretty bad allergies but he still loves to go out and explore so saline and warm compresses it is!

Success!!!!! Juliet must remember Cheveyo from the first night he was born (he was born at Juliet’s house) because the second she smelled him she never her eyes off him. In fact about an hour after she got there I took Cheveyo out for a walk and she started going nuts so I decided to see how they would do together sooner than later and the connection was immediate! Juliet is gentle, loving, protective and the most wonderful surrogate mama we could’ve asked for. Juliet was also a rescue and we don’t know if she’s ever had a baby but she is doing the most wonderful job regardless. Little does Juliet know she just opened up Cheveyo’s world and gave him a new lease on life!

We have a new friend for the summer! Her name is Juliet and she’s just the sweetest thing! She’s very laid back and we’re hoping she will be a perfect pasture mate for Cheveyo to help teach him the ins and out of “horsing”.
