Spay & Neuter Nation spent Saturday at Lake Eola for Earth Day. We ran a silent auction to benefit the rescue groups. So thankful for our awesome volunteer, Rin, who organized a group of Timbercreek High School NHS volunteers to help sell raffle tickets and spread the word about Animal Haven. We couldn't do it without our volunteers!

Sweet senior seeks retirement home.

Elrond’s exact age is unknown, and we don’t know much about his life before he showed up at his colony 8 years ago. What we do know is that he was one of the few social cats there, and when his caregivers recently noticed he was having some issues, they were easily able to get him into a carrier and off to the vet. He was diagnosed with early signs of hyperthyroidism, which is easily managed with medications and his prescription diet.

Always the first to show up for mealtime and accepting of head scritches and attention, Elrond is now fully adjusted to the indoor lifestyle and the definition of a lap cat, wanting nothing more than a soft place to snuggle, purr, and make his magic biscuits. He was one of the alpha males in his clowder, and we’re sure that with proper introductions, he will be okay with a few other cats. His tolerance for small children is unknown, and he definitely doesn’t like dogs.
