Hello everyone! It has been brought to my attention that the former groomer I worked under has been publicly verbalizing her frustration with me leaving while also verbalizing things that are not true. I have remained very professional in my departure and have been keeping my space to avoid any conflict. Unfortunately she has continued with false accusations towards me, so I want to clear the air. The main reason why I left was because the work environment was extremely toxic. The dogs are not treated well. I have seen her throw dogs around and hit them just because they are moving too much or not holding the position she wants them in. Even something as simple as trying to get them to sit for a picture, she would get frustrated and push them into the wall. There is little to no empathy while she grooms. My final straw was when I saw her hit an elderly yorkie on the nose with her scissors for not holding his face still. She gave the dog a bloody nose and the dog started to p*e and p**p which I am assuming was because he was scared. She was not gentle with him whatsoever. She then called the owner and said that he got a bloody nose from either being stressed because he is old or possibly something wrong with his brain. This poor owner obviously believed her. Unfortunately she is not a person I can ever voice concern to as she is very quick to shut me down and make me feel very small.
It breaks my heart that most owners are not aware of how she is treating their beloved fur babies. Not only does she treat the dogs poorly, as soon as almost every client walks out the door she has something negative to say about the client.
I did not want to have to make this post as I wanted to leave that toxic environment behind and move forward but I canβt keep my tongue quiet on the truth anymore since she has publicly verbalized her frustration towards me leaving.
I feel very fortunate and grateful for anyone that has or is trusting me with their fur baby. They are all family and should be treated as such. I appreciate everyoneβs support during this transition in my grooming career. ππ
