The Special Operations Association ( www.specialoperations.org ) is a little known 501(c)(3) organization that has been around since the 1970’s. The organization was originally founded by members of MACV-SOG and has continued to be mainly comprised of members of SOG or those who supported their missions during the Vietnam War. Unfortunately, as time passes we are losing more and more members of this great organization. Unless those of our younger SOF generations step up to carry the torch all of the knowledge, lessons learned and experience will be lost to time.

I encourage everyone who has served in SOF or supported special operations to go to the SOA website above and apply for membership. If you’re still reading this and haven’t served in SOF you can still help by sharing information about the organization.

Looking forward to getting a break from the stress and chaos of running an excavating company, to the peace and solitude of shuffling around orange groves in Florida, loaded down with 50lb of kit for 24 miles. It’s good for the soul. Maybe loose a few toenails, get to shoot my guns. Push yourself even when you haven’t properly prepared, because that’s where you will find what you are made of.
