Our Mission

Dedicated Care for Life’s Greatest Companions

As a Certified Cat Trainer, my primary goal is to safely and confidently provide enrichment and stimulation for our feline companions. Education and appropriate training is vital to provide you and your feline the greatest opportunities for a happy and healthy home. Often this is from behavioral issues, mismatched expectations, lack of pr

eparation, or incompatibility with other pets or individuals in the home. These pets often find themselves surrendered to the local shelter. In Cumberland County for the year 2023, a total of 3,026 cats were processed into the county shelter, 28% of the cats were euthanized. Nationally, estimates increase to 45% of all cats are eventually euthanized who enter a shelter. The numbers are staggering and increase year over year. Dogs and cats bring a level of authenticity to my life. I aspire for Blue Isle Pet Cottages to be a lifestyle business which facilities trust within the community as individuals face circumstances in which their pets need a home away from home, specialized care, or training. We are beginning our journey by offering Cat Training Services throughout Fayetteville and the surrounding area. Our training builds upon three positive pillars: Enrichment, Stimulation, and Confidence. We also offer various homemade toys and accessories which are safe, affordable, and effective for your feline companion. Please ask us about customized products to support your training process. We look forward to assisting you and your companion in achieving your training goals and exploring creative solutions for feline care and enrichment! With education and training integrated early into your feline’s life, we can make a difference!

As we head into Memorial Day, Blue Isle is taking a moment of remembrance for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. We are eternally grateful for the opportunities and freedoms they fought hard to protect. While you head into the weekend don't forget to remind yourself that freedom is never free and we stand on the sacrifices of those who came before us. They will never be forgotten.

"Love your pet? See your vet."

Did you know even indoor cats can catch diseases? Some diseases can be carried in with you from your life outside the home. Preventatives and vaccinations can reduce the risk of expensive vet bills later and give your cat the greatest chance of a healthy life. Owners often assume an indoor cat does not require a trip to the vet because they don't go outside or decide it is too stressful for the cat (and owner) to make an annual visit. At Blue Isle, we can help you prepare your cat for the carrier, car rides, and go over how to prepare for a stress free vet exam. We will help you with a customized training plan so you and your furry feline will enjoy a calm and stress free trip to the vet! Drop us a note or give us a call to set up your initial assessment today! πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

Preventive care for your pet does just what its name suggests – it can prevent diseases that can put your pet’s life in jeopardy and be costly to treat. As part of today's theme of "Love your pet? See your vet," here are 7 cat diseases that can be prevented with vaccination and deworming.

πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™ Every time I mention that I am a cat trainer people say "I didn't know you could train cats." The next comment is "How do you train a cat?" Our training program is focused on enrichment, stimulation, and confidence for our feline companions. Each cat is unique, they have their own personalities, their own fears, their own strengths, and they are their own species. We use Fear Free positive enforcement through a clicker and reward based series of activities to enhance cat happiness and to address behavior issues when needed. Most importantly, we strive to stay current with scientific behavioral studies to make sure we are building not just on our credentials and experience, but on elements veterinary behavioral experts say are important. The wellness team is created between the cat parents, the groomers, the trainers, and the veterinary professionals to support your feline. We encourage everyone to take advantage of a team based approach in taking care of our felines. Together we can ensure feline health and happiness! πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

Another great education course on Fear Free practices to support your fur kiddos. As a certified and active member, I always learn something new to apply to my cat training services. For those who are not familiar, Fear Free focuses on efforts of veterinary practices, sitters, and trainers to reduce fear, stress, and anxiety in our pets. I strongly believe in their principles as a core foundation of our cat training and would love to chat with you on the proven benefits for your furry loved ones!

SOCKS!!!! Please support Cumberland County, NC Animal Services and their call for your socks. It is a super simple ask and it means you can clean out that sock drawer as you prepare for a flip flop summer 😸

Weird request… but we promise it makes a big difference.

We’re in need of socks of any size (new or gently used) to make rice packs for our surgery patients. These help keep animals warm and comfortable while they recover from anesthesia.

If you have any extra socks hanging around, we would love to take them off your hands.
