The FHS is dedicated to ending the needless suffering of unwanted pets through our aggressive spay and neuter program. In an effort to do our part to alleviate this pandemic, we offer discounted certificates for spay and neuter assistanc

e to those who qualify and as funds permit. Prior to every adoption, we test, vaccinate, and spay or neuter all of our animals, or make arrangements to have them spayed or neutered, ensuring that they will not reproduce and add to this growing problem. Our ultimate goal is to find permanent loving homes for all of our rescued animals.

Meet Bear!

This handsome, medium-sized doodle mix is about 1½ years old and is ready to find his forever family! What mix exactly? We are not sure, but we are guessing that there is some schnauzer in him. He is fully grown and 37 pounds.

Bear is a wonderful combination of playful and well-mannered. He’s crate trained, has been potty trained with a consistent schedule where he is taken out frequently, walks beautifully on a leash, and rarely barks. He has the fun energy of a young dog but is eager to listen and learn.

Bear loves playing with other dogs, though he’s still working on his social skills and can sometimes be a little bossy. Because he has a strong prey drive, he is not a good fit for a home with cats or other small animals. A securely fenced yard would be ideal so he can safely run and play. He’s also a gentle sweetheart with children and has done great with kids ages 8 and 10.

Bear’s adorable doodle coat will need daily brushing and regular grooming appointments to keep him looking his best. We don’t know whether he sheds or is hypoallergenic.

Stay tuned... 🐾
We're still working on Kashka's glucose curve, and things got a little more exciting than expected. We were using a FreeStyle Libre monitor... but it decided to malfunction. 😅 Uh-oh!
We'll get things sorted out and share an update as soon as we can.
In the meantime, this gorgeous girl is still looking for her forever home. ❤️ Despite managing her diabetes, Kashka is a sweet, loving cat who deserves a family to call her own.

Meet Murphy, a stunning 6-month-old purebred white Boxer who’s searching for his forever family! At about 45 pounds, this handsome guy still has some growing to do, but his heart is already fully grown.

Murphy is everything people love about Boxers—goofy, playful, affectionate, and full of personality. He’s the total package:

🤍 Crate trained
🤍 Great with kids, cats, and other dogs
🤍 Not deaf!
🤍 Ball obsessed (seriously… ball is life!)
🤍 Loves to run, play, and then curl up next to his favorite people

Murphy is a true Velcro dog, which means he wants to be part of everything you do. He’s happiest in a home where someone is around for a good part of the day, and he’d love to have another active dog to wrestle, play, and burn off puppy energy with.

A secure fenced yard would be his dream come true, although an electric fence that he’s properly trained to use could also work. Give this boy a tennis ball and some room to run, and you’ve got one happy pup!

Murphy can be a little picky about his meals, but when it comes to love, loyalty, and fun, he gives 110%.

Meet Daisy!

At 8 years old and 70 pounds, Daisy is the kind of dog who reminds you that life is better when you slow down and enjoy the little things. This sweet hound mix is looking for a family to spend her golden years with, and she has so much love left to give.

Inside the home, Daisy is the definition of easygoing. She loves lounging around, taking naps, and simply being near her people. She's house trained, crate trained, and has wonderful house manners, making her an easy companion to welcome into your home.

Don't let her laid-back personality fool you—Daisy still loves getting outside! Walks are one of her favorite activities, and like any true hound, she enjoys taking her time to sniff every interesting scent along the way.

Daisy has lived with children and has always been gentle and loving with them. She has become more comfortable around other dogs and gets very excited when she sees them. Her excitement often comes with enthusiastic barking and howling, which is simply part of her charming hound personality. Once she's back home, though, she's content to relax and enjoy a quiet evening with her family.

She previously lived with a cat and did well, though it's been some time, so any introductions to feline friends should be done thoughtfully.

If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who enjoys peaceful days at home, leisurely walks, and plenty of love, Daisy may be the perfect addition to your family. She's ready to trade kennel life for a soft bed, a loving home, and a family to call her own.

Daisy does have allergies to grass, which is managed OK with daily Temeril-P (red skin is her main long term symptom). She has been through immunotherapy shots and allergy testing.

Meet Prince! 🐾

Prince is a handsome mixed-breed puppy with a heart as big as his adventurous spirit! At about 4½ months old and weighing around 25 pounds, we expect him to grow into a medium-sized adult around 40–45 pounds.

Prince is always ready for his next adventure! Whether he's exploring the backyard, playing with friends, or learning something new, this happy-go-lucky pup approaches life with enthusiasm and a wagging tail. His ears are starting to stand up, making him even more irresistibly adorable.

He's a smart, eager-to-please boy who already knows his name and is doing wonderfully with basic commands like "sit" and "stay." Prince loves learning and thrives on praise, treats, and spending time with his people.

Prince is crate trained for naps and bedtime and settles in nicely. He's also made great progress through his puppy stage—his "bitey" phase is mostly behind him! He's still working on house training, but with consistency and patience, he's sure to master it.

Prince absolutely loves big dogs and would do great in a home with a playful canine companion. He's also wonderful with kids, making him a great fit for a family with respectful children. Like many curious puppies, he's still learning how to live with cats. Right now, he thinks chasing them is part of the fun, so he'll need continued guidance and supervision if his new home includes feline friends.

Every one of these faces has a story.
Some were orphaned. Some are requesting their forever home come with a soft dog friend - Cassidy. 💕 Some were born outside. Some arrived sick or injured. All of them were given a second chance because a foster family opened their home.
Now they're healthy, playful, and ready for the next chapter—a family of their own.

Through sickness, recovery, foster care, and growing up, Marinara has been his constant.

Meet Dingo!

Dingo is a 4-year-old, 45-pound adventure buddy with a huge personality and an even bigger heart! Her DNA test says she’s a mix of Pit Bull, Labrador Retriever, German Shepherd, Great Dane, and a little bit of “super mutt” magic — and honestly, it fits her perfectly.

This girl is the life of every party! We have yet to meet a dog, cat, kid, or adult that Dingo doesn’t instantly adore. She’s playful, social, goofy, and absolutely loves being part of the action. Whether she’s splashing in the water, running trails, chasing toys, or making new friends, Dingo is happiest when she’s busy and included.

She’s also the total package when it comes to manners:
🐾 Housebroken
🐾 Crate trained
🐾 Off-leash trained
🐾 Rides wonderfully in the car
🐾 Quiet in her kennel and calm in the house

Dingo would thrive in an active home that enjoys hiking, running, camping, swimming, or other outdoor adventures. She needs plenty of mental and physical stimulation and would love a family who wants a dog to truly share life with. If you’re looking for a couch potato, Dingo probably isn’t your girl — but if you want a fun-loving sidekick who’s always ready for the next adventure, she’s perfect.

After a full day of fun, Dingo is more than happy to relax and cuddle up with her people for the evening.
