So proud of my niece Haley Hyska, she and her horse Mia showed beautifully today at Waterloo, a sanctioned USDF and USEF Dressage competition. Today was the first Level 3 competition and they did great!

I've been around horses for over 50 years and I have NEVER recommended a fly spray, because I have never found anything that works, whether it's commercial or homemade. This works and it's herbal. Not a fan of the smell but it has saved my horses this summer!

My beautiful 28 year old Reg. Appaloosa ( yup! ) "3 Jet Trigger"😍

This is the first time that I can remember not riding all year long. I've never been a fair weather rider but this medicine that I am on for my breast cancer is making me 1. completely heat intolerant and 2. beat like a drum after around 2 PM.

 I am extremely grateful for my relatively easy cancer diagnosis and my treatment is more tolerable than many. I am also blessed to have the kind of horses that I think will get right back into work easily. It just bothers me that I haven't ridden for a month and a half 😢 though I have to remember horses are basically lazy and I'm sure they are thrilled to have this time off especially in the heat. Stay hydrated folks, fall is coming!
