Riff earned his DCAT at the 2026 United Stated Australian Shepherd Association (USASA) National Specialty FastCAT event! 👏🏼👏🏼

This boy is only just beginning in his multi sport career and I’m happy to now be taking a break from FastCAT for the foreseeable future since all of our dogs are now titled in this event! My husband had a goal for Riff to earn his DCAT, the first ever Ausdauer dog to earn one, and he did it easily!

Same as for Theory, he earned a gorgeous ribbon that I am going to get a photo of him with to share. This photo was taken last fall by the lovely Wander Into Focus as they always get some of the best sport photos I could ask for. 📸

Theory earned her BCAT today at the 2026 United States Australian Shepherd Association (USASA) National Specialty FastCAT event! 🏅✨

I am going to attempt to get a photo of her with her very cute ribbon, if she does not take off with it like it’s another trash bunny. 😂🐰 But in the meantime, enjoy this gorgeous shot captured by Wander Into Focus at the buffer point run I did for her at the TAC FastCAT trial last weekend, during her very first FastCAT run!

I love having a dog who did not care that a complete and total stranger had to release her, needed zero training, and immediately understood the game. 🔥🐾

Riff’s first herding clinic and first exposure to sheep, and he absolutely rose to the occasion!

He showed natural calm instinct right away, but what really stood out was his mind. Content to sit or lay beside me, off leash most of the time, quietly observing run after run without making a single poor decision. Not all of my crew would make those same choices 😅.

At just 1.5 (2 this July), he’s already proving to be incredibly level headed with a bright future ahead. I’m very excited for this boy. And thank you Linda Maguire for the photos of him.
