Meet Milo, a sweet 6-year-old tuxedo cat who’s looking for a calm home. Milo was found as a stray and we think he may have spent all or most of his life outdoors. He’s not into playing much but is all about snuggling and lounging. He loves attention and affection but isn’t a fan of when it stops, which may lead to some playful nipping or grabbing. Milo is best suited for a quiet, low-traffic home, ideally with someone who works from home and can offer him the steady companionship he craves. He tends to hunker down in a particular room when he's brought into a new home, so his adopters need to be aware of that and patient with him as he gets settled. He can be a bit reactive, especially in stressful situations like being around other cats or loud noises, so he's best suited as the only pet or with another calm, passive cat. If you're looking for a snuggle buddy who just needs some patience and a peaceful environment, Milo might be the perfect match for you!
Milo tested positive for FIV - Feline Immunodeficiency Virus - which is a virus that affects cats' immune systems, but it's important to know that it’s not a big deal and can be easily managed. FIV is mainly spread through deep bite wounds, so it’s not contagious through casual contact like grooming or sharing food. Cats with FIV can live long, happy lives as long as they are kept indoors and receive regular veterinary check-ups. With a healthy diet, a calm environment, and routine care, most FIV-positive cats lead normal, fulfilling lives. It’s just one of those things that requires a little extra attention, but FIV-positive cats can be just as loving, playful, and wonderful as any other cat!
