🐾 VOLHARD TEST RESULTS 🐾
For those interested in how we evaluate temperament, each puppy in this litter recently completed the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test (PAT) at 49 days of age. The Volhard is a standardized temperament assessment designed to evaluate traits such as social attraction, confidence, independence, resilience, retrieving instinct, sound sensitivity, sight sensitivity, touch sensitivity, and overall stability. The goal is not to identify a “best” puppy, but rather to help match the right puppy with the right home. Scores are interpreted individually, and there are no winners or losers.
While we feel the Volhard test provides excellent insight into a puppy’s natural tendencies and developing temperament, it is important to remember that no temperament test is perfect. Results should be viewed as just one piece of the puzzle. Genetics, socialization, training, environment, and life experiences all play a significant role in shaping the adult dog. We use the Volhard alongside our daily observations, structured socialization program, and ongoing temperament evaluations to gain the most complete picture possible.
