I do not care if you trash me, this is the most disgusting excuse for rehoming your pet and I will die on this hill. Permanent solution to a temporary problem. One of our amazing fosters was between homes and had a bully mix that she couldn’t find housing for, you know what she did….she boarded her dog and visited frequently until she could come back and take him home. She’s a single mom and SHE FIGURED IT OUT. She kept her dog. And yep, this is me shaming people like this and I do not care if you disagree. It’s hard out there to be a dog/cat.

🐾 Two Sweet Girls Looking for a Loving Home 🐾

My client recently passed away, and she left behind two wonderful dogs who were her constant companions. I’m hoping to find them a new forever home together.

Meet Skili and Ebony:
• Skili – A gentle, loyal Golden Retriever, about 9.5 years old. She’s calm, affectionate, and loves being around people.
• Ebony – A sweet rescue mix (likely with some Doberman), about 7 years old. She’s playful, friendly, and absolutely adores her “sister” Skili.
These girls are the best of friends—they eat, play, and nap side by side. Both are friendly, well-behaved, and bring so much love wherever they go.
They’ve gone through a big change recently, but they still have so much love to give and deserve a family who can give them the same care and affection they’ve always known.

A big shout out to The Insulation Professionals for squeezing us into their schedule and getting the insulation sprayed into our shed so we can rescue more animals. I learned a lot about spray insulation and I am so excited! You couldn’t ask for a nicer bunch of folks. Give them a call for any insulation needs!

$5 Friday is here and we have a ways to go. Cheers (Boston) has surgery scheduled for next Wednesday for her knees. Moose, Irma(adopted), and Cheers will soon be ready for their heartworm injections.
Today we are having a shed on the property insulated so we can save more dogs! We are so excited. Stay tuned!

Rescue is getting harder and harder these days. Dogs are sitting with zero applications, even the little dogs. I don’t know what else to do. More coming in and need to come in than what is leaving. It’s bad out there if you’re a dog and this is heartbreaking. I’ve never had small dogs sit with zero interest.

Our little girl from Penny’s litter 3 years ago was returned for a second time. Reports the owner, she’s so anxious she requires 2 different anti-anxiety meds and she bit the baby. So, here she is, she made the return trip from Massachusetts this weekend and Olive is fine. Storm anxiety, yeah, but when someone tells me storm anxiety I think the worst. She shakes and she wants to hide. Ok, cool, we can accommodate that. Other than that, yeah, I’m
Not seeing it. I totally get it, the kid is suddenly mobile and maybe it made her a little uneasy, I can only assume the kid got in her space. I don’t fault them for it, just hate Olive had to be uprooted again and now she’s 3 years old and she looks like every other dog that’s waiting for a home. This is the reason I can no longer take bully mixes in to rescue…what am I going to do with them if they come back? And I’m not alone in this sentiment, bullies aren’t beng adopted. It’s a sad reality out there for all dogs but add some bully in there and they’re screwed. Anyone know of anyone looking to add a sweet, housetrained, crate trained bully mix to their family? I probably wouldn’t recommend her with a family with small kids just to be on the safe side. I would also say she needs a confident, calm person.

I ran to Magnolia Springs last night to scan this guy for a microchip, no chip of course. He is the most well behaved chill pup. If anyone is missing him his finder would love to get him home. He’s clearly been someone’s best friend, housetrained, well taken care of. If anyone knows anyone missing a brindle boy please let us know and we will get you in touch with the finder.

🚨HELP!!!🚨

We are about to go broke with these 3.
1. Hank is coming in due to some tummy upset and ⚡️ he’s heartworm positive. I know we were shocked too 🫨.
2. Moose 🫎 is also heartworm positive. I know, I know. Who would imagine adult dogs heartworm positive. It’s just so rare.
Hopefully you can hear the sarcasm seeping out of this post. 🙄 Just so I don’t cry hysterically.
Both of these boys will require neuters and stomach tacks so that they don’t run the risk of bloat.
3. Cheers. Cheers is exactly why you find me on my soap box all the time telling you all to STOP BUYING FROM BACKYARD BREEDERS!!!!
Cheers is missing the groove that her patella (knee cap) sits in so she’s basically got knee caps just floating around causing her to be grossly bow legged in the rear. Now we could just opt not to fix this but in the long run that means possible crippling arthritis for this sweet girl and a short life span so here we are, about to throw a few thousand dollars down to correct her knees. Oh and did I mention she’s also heartworm positive? No, yeah, for real, she sure is. I mean why wouldn’t she be….who wants to pay for heartworm preventative when they don’t expect to keep their dogs for life.

So now, while I figure out how to pay for these 3 please, if your dog isn’t on heartworm preventative run to your vet now and get that remedied. And STOP FUNDING BACKYARD BREEDERS!!!!!
