Bentley has been one of my favorites to have in the barn because he has been a puzzle and making me really work to put all the pieces together!

He has come so far and we have had to add things to help him along the way. This is his second time working the pattern with alittle speed and I’m thrilled with how he handled it!

Sometimes I think we forget to simply celebrate a good run. ❤️

Yesterday my horses went 3rd, 5th, and 11th out of 129+ in deeper, heavier ground where the times were naturally a little slower. And yes, I can look back at every run and find something I could have done better—that’s part of this sport. We’re always learning, improving, and trying to be better for our horses.

But I also want to be really proud of what they did.

I think it’s easy in competition to get caught up in the “if I would have…” or “if they would have…” game. But sometimes a horse simply ran a really good race, and that deserves to stand on its own. One horse’s success doesn’t need to be diminished to make another horse’s run feel better.

If your horse ran a time close to mine, that’s a damn good run too. If you were a little faster, celebrate it. If you were a little slower, celebrate that too. There is always something we can improve, but that doesn’t mean we can’t stop for a minute and appreciate what our horses just gave us.

I’m incredibly proud of mine. They showed up, handled the different ground, and put themselves right in the mix. That’s worth celebrating. 🖤

Keep pushing. Keep learning. Keep improving. But don’t forget to be proud of the horses standing underneath you today. ❤️

Your night is absolutely made when your client sends to videos like this.

Melissa Harris and her daughter drive 2.5+ hours sometimes to still take lessons with me!

Both mares were started on barrels by me.

Futurity horse for 2026!! 17.1 & 16.8 is arena record!!

Kick Up The Dust did not disappoint. It was a great experience to prepare the girls for the coming adventures we have planned!

DolceLikeAJudge I have thrown to the wolves and treated her more like a seasoned barrel horse which she is most definitely not. She ran an 18.2 bottom of the 2D with alittle ground trouble at the third and going by it. I’m incredibly impressed she still ran an 18.2 with that third!

Calibcashdatcheck she keeps amazing me. Having her back in the trailer is such a blessing! She has really helped me get my timing down and been extremely forgiving (not usually her MO) when my timing has been less then stellar. She ran a 17.7 with stepping off her third (because someone took her to it too soon) placing 9th in the 1D.

TF Beda Be A Judge…I have no words. “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Hebrews 12:1 She did exactly that. Winning the race with a 17.3 and knowing there is more smoothing out and cleaning up we can do.

Beyond proud of this group of horses and what they continue to accomplish for me.

Nostalgic is the best word to describe yesterday.

DolceLikeAJudge our first home bred, raised, and trained got to make a run in the arena I grew up running her mom in. She did not disappoint. No time onlies and she went in like a seasoned pro. Running an 18.129 to be 5th in the 1D of 100+.

Calibcashdatcheck I have no words, we have some tuning and dialing in to get her back to where I know she can be but she still goes out and try’s so hard every time. 18.168 for 6th 1D.

TF Beda Be A Judge, I will never blame this horse. She does EXACTLY what my body says. Alittle ground figuring out for her at the first, and me sitting too soon at the 3rd and she still clocks a 17.99. We have our eyes set on our goals and we achieved them last night even if we had a down barrel.

Onto the next ones!
