ScotLyn Farm & Stables

ScotLyn Farm & Stables Family run horse boarding with a healthy herd, happy horses, and attentive personal care. Welcome to ScotLyn Farm & Stables! The health of our herd comes first.

We're a family-owned horse farm run by Scott and Lynae McElroy and family, where every horse is cared for like one of our own. Set on open pasture, our farm gives your horse a calm, well-kept place to live, graze, and thrive. We offer a wide variety of affordable boarding options to fit your needs with fresh water and quality slow net hay feeding systems in each paddock. A full range of optional a

dd-on services lets you tailor your horse's routine to exactly what they need, from grain feeding and blanketing to medication and farrier/vet holding. Built for horse owners who love to ride, our facility features an indoor arena, outdoor arena, and round pen, plus a large wash bay and a heated tack room for your comfort. The entire property is monitored 24/7 by video security, so everyone can relax and enjoy their time here. We follow a clear herd health protocol requiring vaccinations, negative Coggins testing, regular deworming, and consistent hoof care every 6–8 weeks. All new arrivals are quarantined before joining a group. It's the kind of care we'd want for your horses, because to us, they are family. Whether you're looking for a short or long-term home for your horse, a place to ride, lessons, or training, we'd love to welcome you to the ScotLyn Farm family. 🐴MEET RIZA ✨

Every barn needs a laid-back soul who reminds everyone to slow down and enjoy the little things. Sweetheart Riza, fits the bill perfectly. She’s named after Riza Hawkeye from Fullmetal Alchemist.

Registered under "Unbreakable Vow," 🥹this 2025 Percheron x Quarter Horse cross is the baby of the family. She arrived this past August alongside her horse siblings, Parley and Mayder, though her adventure with her humans began even earlier. Riza has only called Wisconsin home since late April.

What an adventure it's been! Born down in Alabama and later purchased by a gentleman in Kentucky, Riza came completely unhandled, sight unseen, on the strength of a single video. (Talk about a leap of faith!) Even her trip north came with a little extra excitement, a vehicle breakdown stretched the drive into a two-day expedition. But this little lady took it all in stride, because that's simply who she is.

For a yearling, Riza is remarkably calm, cool, and collected. She's laid back, easygoing, and about as go with the flow as they come. She is not one to make a fuss and always happiest right in the middle of the action with her favorite people. If she were a person, she'd be that wonderfully mellow friend who keeps everyone relaxed. Her idea of a perfect day? Long naps, plenty of neck scratches, and a good meal. She's especially fond of her grain served up in her signature "pink bucket," with a few mocktail horse treats on the side. A girl of simple, sweet pleasures.

We're absolutely smitten with this gentle, people loving youngster, and we can't wait to watch her grow up right here at the barn. Welcome home, Riza!

Stay tuned, Riza and Mayder have one more sibling waiting in the wings. Parley's story is coming soon!

🐴MEET MAYDER🏎️💨

Officially registered as "Cashing Out," but known around here as Mister, Handsome Man, or simply Mayder. He is a 20 year old American Saddlebred gelding. After mispronouncing "Mater” in his early years, his family decided to spell it exactly how it should sound. So calling all of Disney Pixar fans…Cars Fans, yes, he's named after everyone's favorite lovable tow truck, thanks to a personality that's every bit as charming and silly. He's matured a bit over the years, but the name still suits him.

Mayder is no stranger to this barn. He and his horse sisters, Parley and Riza, are returning boarders. After a short time away, the whole crew came home this past August, picking right back up in the place they'd already called home for 5 years. His family has loved him for an incredible 16 years, and that bond shines through in everything he does.

In his younger days, Mayder was an adventurer who logged plenty of miles out on the trails. He even served as a representative for an equine-assisted psychotherapy program. A job his big gentle heart was made for. These days he's leaning into his mature side with shorter rides, relaxing, and above all, spending quality loving time with his humans.

One of Mayder’s best trait is his hugs! This Handsome Man knows how to wrap that long, noodley neck right around you for a genuine embrace… though we'll be honest, if you don't have a treat handy, you’ll be held hostage. He will literally take anything, he is not picky.

Twenty years young, endlessly lovable, and always ready for a snack, we're so lucky to have Mayder and his humans back!

Stay tuned…Mayder's the first of the trio, and we can't wait to introduce you to his sisters, Parley and Riza, in the coming weeks. Their stories are next!
