We just finished evening medications and chores for the day.
After reviewing our fundraising needs, we've made the difficult decision to remove our past-due veterinary bills from the current goal. Those bills remain a significant concern, but right now our focus has to be on Bjorn's immediate medical care.
The reality is that raising these funds will determine whether we can continue his treatment tomorrow or be forced to make a heartbreaking decision based solely on finances.
We've updated our donation tracker, and our new goal is $4,500 to ensure Bjorn can be transferred to UGA in the morning. He is currently hospitalized, receiving IV fluids and strong medications to keep him comfortable and stable overnight. Porter and I will pick him up in the morning and transport him to UGA—provided we can secure the funds needed to move forward with his emergency care.
We're hopeful that narrowing our focus to this more immediate need will help people see just how close we are. We're already nearly halfway to our goal, and every donation—no matter the size—brings Bjorn one step closer to the specialized care he urgently needs.
