Kenny has had a couple of busy weekends! Last weekend he got to do the super fun color powder photo with DFlux Photography. This weekend he and Carol Lindsay went to the Hidden Valley Obedience Club - HVOC Obedience and Rally trial where they earned QQQs (qualifying in the master, excellent and advanced classes all in the same day) both days and earned 22 RACH points AND FINISHING HIS RALLY MASTER TITLE!!! They need 20 QQQs and 300 points to earn the RACH (Rally Champion) title. Next weekend catch him back in the conformation and juniors ring with his bestie Riley Green! We love this multi-talented, smart, handsome, good boy so much!

Pending AKC confirmation he is now
GCH Barrister Winning Appeal RM CGCU TKN

Since we have just posted about titles earned and progress on titles, let’s talk about titles. Why do we title our dogs? Well, in part, we do so to prove, in a measurable, objective, recorded way, that our dogs are of sound mind and body and that they conform to the breed standard, that they are a credit to their pedigree and their breeder, that they have something to contribute to the breed gene pool. But what else does a title mean? This was originally written by Sandy Mowery and published in Front and Finish magazine, a publication dedicated to the sport of competitive dog obedience. And it hits me right in the heart every time I read it. A title honors the dog who earned it, and honors the rich shared history of dogs and humans, all the way back to the first canid who bonded with a human. The dog may not know what is written on a certificate or recorded in a database after his name, but he knows the relationship that was built and the time that was spent together to earn it.

Our Ken Dog also had an amazing weekend at the Mission Circuit shows. In addition to showing in breed and Junior handling with his bestie and co-owner Riley Green, he and Carol Lindsay showed up early each morning to compete in the Rally Master class! Unfortunately Monday we had a conflict with our breed ring time also being early so we missed the rally class that day, but Friday they scored a 100, Saturday 97 and Sunday 98 (out of a possible 100 points). This puts Kenny just 2 qualifying master scores from his Rally Master title (a dog needs 10 scores over 70 points in the Rally Master class for an RM title). He’s also now racked up 60 of the 150 Rally Championship (RACH) points he will need from the Master class to earn his RACH. We’re so proud of Kenny for always showing up and working hard. Everytime the bar is raised he steps up! He’s the best boy!

We are so proud of her and are so excited for the future for this gorgeous and talented girl! For now she will be focusing on her agility and obedience work.

It’s a good thing we waited to post anything about Misti’s achievements until the last day of the weekend, because she really knocked it out of the park today!!

Friday, when she won the breed and got a 2nd place in the owner handled Sporting group, we thought we couldn’t possibly be more proud of her.

Saturday, she said, “I can do better than that.” She won the breed, and won 1st place in the owner handled Sporting group.

Sunday, she said, “You ain’t seen nothing yet!“ She won the breed, got 2nd place in the owner handled Sporting group and… a 3rd place in the Sporting group!

Misti is just such a special girl and we are so fortunate that Le’ Kubow is generous enough to share her with us!

Misti is CH Barrister Dragonstar Mistra NA NAJ ACT1 CGC TKN and she is owned and adored by Le’ Kubow and Carol Lindsay.

It’s been such a great weekend at the Del Sur Kennel club shows.

Kenny, GCH Barrister Winning Appeal RE CGCU TKN, and Riley Green were Best of Opposite S*x Saturday.

Both Saturday and Sunday they absolutely killed it in Juniors and walked away with Reserve Best Junior Handler both days!

Riley and her puppy Salem, Dunwishin’ Entwood Storm Chaser, were also Best of Breed and 1st in group in Beginner Puppy today!

We are so proud and could not be more grateful to have Riley and her family as part of our Dunwishin’ family!

Congratulations to Kenny’s brother Robby and his owner Maire Janzen for winning Best of Opposite today! Kenny and Robby have always shared like good brothers! And big thanks to Maire for helping to show Vixen in Beginner Puppy all weekend!

My oh my. Our baby puppies are doing us proud this weekend at the Del Sur Kennel Club shows.

Friday Miss Clare, Dunwishin’ Entwood Winter Wonderland, won the breed and the puppy sporting group and got a good long look in the Best Puppy in Show ring under Judge Grant Townsend, who, by the way, is just about the sweetest judge to show baby puppies to! Congrats to her other mom Lainey O’Grady!

Today Miss Fiona, Dunwishin’ Entwood Tempest in a Teacup, piloted by dear friend Anita Anderson, won the breed and puppy group. Carol Lindsay took her in for Best Puppy in Show where she blew us all away and WON! Under Judge Dr. Andrea Bradford. Congrats to her other mom Deirdre Browner!

Their brother Salem was Best Opposite S*x today, shown to perfection by his loving owner Riley Green.

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s results and more about their Aunt Misti and Uncle Kenny’s adventures this weekend!

Many thanks to Anita for her invaluable help this weekend and congratulations to her for her little Kissy’s group wins yesterday and today. Congrats to all the other winners.
