Hello, all! This will be a long post, but please continue to read.
As many of you know, my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer last June, at the young age of 26. She recently finished treatment, and is now cancer free- I continue to thank everyone who supported her or my family in any way, throughout her journey.
Having a sister diagnosed at such a young age, I was automatically considered a high risk patient and was given strong recommendations to start scans early. Recently, after my very first scan, I was given the news that I also, at the age of 26, have breast cancer.
Although it is such a shock to our family to be going through this again, I am ready to fight and beat this. We have a plan of action and the best team of doctors, and I will be starting immediately with 6 months of chemo treatment. With that being said, I do not know exactly what the next few months will look like for me. I will continue to work every single day that I am able to, but please understand that this may or may not hinder timelines.
Looking ahead at this fall, I will require a surgery/recovery that will take place during the peak of the hunting season. Therefore, I have made the decision that I will be taking in a limited amount of work. This could change as time goes on, but this is the foreseeable plan. (If you are on my waitlist, I will contact you in the fall and still be accepting those. If you have previously contacted me and I’ve confirmed I would take your animals, I am still accepting those).
My career is something I pour my heart and soul into. I truly love what I do, and it is one of the most important things in my life next to my family and friends. But, I do have to take the time to get better now, so I can continue to do this for future years to come.
Life is so precious, and I sure am lucky to have the family, friends, and customers that I do. I couldn’t do it without you all, and I truly thank you for sticking by my side.
