This is Ghia, she’s had training elsewhere in the past and is a very smart and sweet girl.
Unfortunately Ghia exhibits some of the signs of separation anxiety.
The most common signs of separation anxiety in dogs are:
•Excessive barking, whining, or
howling when left alone
•Destructive behavior near doors or windows (chewing, scratching, digging)
•Trying to escape crates or the house
•Pacing in repetitive patterns
•Potty accidents despite being
house-trained
•Drooling, panting, trembling when you're about to leave or while you're gone
•Following you constantly when
you're home
• Extreme excitement or distress
when you return
This is far too common in the pet world for there is such an easy fix!!!!
Here we are conditioning Ghia to the vibration function on an e-collar.
We are showing her that when she feels this function to go tho her bed and lay down.
Now we can use this function any time Ghia exhibits anxiety to interupt it befor reinforcing the anxious behavior with human interaction.
As soon as Ghia offers calm polite behavior, that is when we add our positive reinforcment through human interaction.
