🐐 It was a cool opportunity last month to have the Home Fresh Feed media team come photograph my herd & flock!

I've been feeding Home Fresh Feed to my herd for a few years now and love how well everyone (including bucks & kids) does on it. The chickens just started on Home Fresh too and they'll literally meet me in the driveway in the morning because they want their feed refilled!

📌 5 year old Nigerian Dwarf doe. Disbudded (with a scur), blue eyed, one moonspot on her nose. Very sweet & friendly.

📌 Comes from a *B buck and 2*M doe. Lines include Better Wayz, Little Tots Estate, Old Mountain, and Wooly Dog Down.

📌 I'm unable to successfully get this doe pregnant. She has had one positive pregnancy test in 2023, but lost it. Maybe you'll have better luck than me.

🐐 Here's a few more hoof trimming tips:

📌 If you're able to sit on the stand, or use a turntable, your back will thank you, and you'll be able to handle a lot more goats in one go.

📌 Watch as many videos as you need and give yourself grace as you learn. You will make them bleed and you might feel slow, but you'll get the hang of it the more you do it.

📌 Some goats are kickers! You might need another set of hands to get them under control.

✂️ I use the ARS 140 DXR hoof trimmers from , and we use the too when doing Boer hooves.

🐐 Next up for kidding is Fairlane - this situation was a little different as she was pretty aggressive with me handling her kids (as my does rarely are this way, but I understand).

Despite it being 2° and wanting to help get extra fluids off the kids, I backed off and gave her space until we were able to move them to some heat and work with them a little better.

❄️ Despite the cold temps, the doeling was up and ready to nurse in no time. She's been perky & doing well 🙌🏻
