Bonus cat spayed to wrap up the month!! Reese was spayed today! Reese had hydrometra, (noted on paperwork) which is a condition in which a female cat’s uterus becomes filled with clear fluid. Untreated, that could lead to an infection called pyometra. Yikes! This girl is now uterus-free and doesn’t have to worry about that anymore šŸ–¤

Today is my 21st birthday!! I really wanted to try to do a birthday fundraiser for Mosh Pits & Kits, my little cat care & rescue program.

As I’m sure everyone knows by now, I’ve had to stop fostering earlier this year due to some major life changes. I’m still trying my best to stay as involved in local animal rescue as I can by I supporting community cat caregivers with supplies such as cat food (looking to give out straw in the winter as well for outdoor cat shelters) and getting cats spayed/neutered so there’s less homeless kitties 🐱

Even with all the changes happening and needing to slow down, I’ve still managed to find 9 cats their forever homes so far this year, and have gotten 8 community cats spayed/neutered & vaccinated šŸ–¤

I know it’s not much, but I’m really hoping to continue doing more, especially once it starts getting warmer out in the spring - I’d like to get as many community cats fixed as possible to prevent litters of kittens from being born outside.

If anyone wants to make a $21 donation (or any amount, anything and everything is greatly appreciated) towards my rescue for my 21st birthday today, it would be greatly appreciated! All money fundraised will go towards things such as vet bills and supplies for community cats & their caregivers, as well as savings for future foster cats (whenever that may happen in the future).

Thank you!!!!

*donations/contributions are not tax deductible. I/mosh pits & kits do not have 501c3 status yet.

Two more cats spayed today by Mosh Pits & Kits!!

Nala and Addy both ended up at someone’s house a few years ago when they were just kittens. They’ve grown into adults that have made their own kittens since then. More specifically, they’ve each had THREE litters of their own this year alone 🄓 no more of that!! Their caregiver is super relieved that these two won’t be having anymore kittens. They’ll be brought back to their home tomorrow morning.

I’m always happy to help get cats spayed and neutered as much as I can. It’s a desperately needed service here.

TWO more community cats fixed today!! Superbeast & Dragula (yes, like the Rob Zombie songs) were spayed/neutered and vaccinated today. They’ll be recovering inside tonight, then released back to the neighborhood that they live in tomorrow.

I’ll probably only do one more round of TNR this October. It’ll be really cold after that, and releasing cats back outside with shaved bellies from surgery isn’t a great idea. I’ll get right back at it once the weather warms up, of course.

Also, thank you Laureen for sending Rescue disinfectant off of the wishlist! This will help keep traps sanitized in-between cats.

If anyone else would like to send supplies (appreciated but definitely not necessary), check out Mosh Pits & Kits’ social media pages, etc., you can do so at this link - linktr.ee/moshpitsrescue

Lately, I have been seeing so many comments on animal welfare/rescue posts that critique how certain rescues do (or don't do) things. It is up to you as an individual to decide what and who you support or don't support. Here is what I believe in, and what Mosh Pits & Kits prides itself in.

Today, three outdoor/community cats were spayed/neutered and vaccinated by me/Mosh Pits & Kits. (Vet records attached for proof!)

That’s 3 cats (Dexter, Ronnie, and Grey) who will no longer be adding to the outdoor/stray cat population. No more kittens born outside from these guys! Each of these cats are fed and monitored by a couple who truly cares for them. (No, they did not have microchips or collars. No, none of the neighbors claimed these cats as theirs. These cats are cared for by various members of the neighborhood who feed them and love them from a distance). I’m super glad they asked me to help get them fixed. They were trapped yesterday and went into the clinic first thing this morning. They’re now back and will be monitored indoors overnight, then released back outside tomorrow once they’re feeling better. Friendly reminder that not all cats thrive indoors. Sometimes the best thing you can do for cats is TNR (trap, neuter, return).

I’m super happy to be doing TNR again!! If anyone wants to contribute (not tax deductible), follow my rescue social media pages, and/or buy Mosh Pits & Kits merch, you can find links to all that here: https://linktr.ee/moshpitsrescue

The biggest supply need right now would be rescue brand disinfectant to disinfect traps in-between cats, but anything and everything will be put to good use. Thank you!!

PLEASE support spay/neuter, especially TNR! Less kittens born outside means less homeless kitties suffering and living on the streets.

ā€œTNR isn't just important, it's everything. Every single week we are flooded with desperate calls, messages, and emails about cats and kittens who are sick, injured, or abandoned. The truth is heartbreaking: we cannot rescue our way out of this crisis. There are simply too many.
But TNR changes that. Every trap set, every spay/ neuter, every kitty returned stops generations of suffering before it even begins. It's hope in action.ā€
