HI, I’M WAYLON — YOUR FUTURE BUTTERFLY-HUNTING, LEAF-SECURITY, TOY THEFT SPECIALIST
Hi, I’m Waylon, a five month old German Shepherd/Mini Pinscher mix, which basically means I’m a pocket sized genius with big dog swagger. I learn things fast like sit, wait, gentle, kennel time, I’ve got those down. I’m still figuring out this whole “walk politely on a leash” thing but listen... when the world is full of butterflies and suspicious leaves, staying calm is a lot to ask. I’m also practicing not jumping on people when I say hello and not barking just because I have Very Important Puppy Thoughts. I’m trying, I promise.
I love dogs, and I like cats too, unless they run. If they run, I assume they want to play a high speed game of “Catch the Furry Thing,” and I am excellent at games. When I’m not socializing, I’m an independent guy who grabs a toy and wanders off like a tiny adventurer. I don’t need constant supervision; I can entertain myself just fine. I’m confident, curious, and always up to something... usually something adorable.
Outside, I become Waylon the Wilderness Sheriff. Butterflies? I chase them. Birds? I chase them. Falling leaves? Absolutely not safe. I take my job very seriously. Nothing escapes my attention, and everything must be investigated with dramatic puppy enthusiasm. But when the excitement settles, I’m a certified nap partner who will curl up with you like it’s my full time job.
I haven’t met kids yet because I just got my parvo booster, but soon I’ll be out in public charming every kiddo I meet. I’m sweet, silly, and full of personality, so I’m pretty sure they’ll love me. I’m ready for a home where I can grow, learn, chase things that probably don’t need chasing, and bring joy, laughter, and a little bit of chaos to the people who choose me. I won't be neutered until I'm a bit older but can still be adopted before then and it will be in my adoption contract that I get neutered when I'm old enough, at the expense of Josie's Misfit Ranch.
