Macadamia was one of 12 dogs abandoned in a home and left living in terrible conditions. When help finally arrived, all 12 dogs got the chance they desperately needed. Polo is the definition of a gentle giant. He absolutely LOVES people and has never met a stranger. In Polo’s world, everyone is a friend he just hasn’t hugged yet! His heart is overflowing with love, loyalty, and excitement for life.

This big boy is a giant ball of fun! He loves to play, romp around, and enjoy every moment to the fullest. And when playtime is over? Polo is a professional napper. He plays hard and rests hard, making him the perfect combination of adventure buddy and couch companion.

His only “downfall”? He’s just SO excited to see people that he’s still learning not to jump up to say hello. With over 90 pounds of enthusiasm behind him, we’re working on teaching him that four paws on the floor is the best way to greet his friends. The good news? He’s incredibly loving, eager to please, and worth every bit of the training.

Meet Sophia 🖤

Sophia is an 8.5–9 year old Sharpei/Lab mix weighing 73 pounds, and she is one of the sweetest souls you could ever meet. She is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccines, and microchipped.

Sophia came to us after being brutally attacked by a pack of dogs and needing immediate medical attention. She underwent surgery to clean and repair her wounds, and she currently still has drains in place to help with swelling as she heals. Despite everything she’s been through, Sophia continues to show us nothing but love, trust, and kindness every single day.

She is potty trained, crate trained, calm, and incredibly affectionate with people. Sophia loves attention and simply wants a safe, quiet place where she can finally relax and feel loved. After surviving such a traumatic experience and now living in a crate while she recovers, we can’t blame her for being uncomfortable around other dogs or protective over her food. She has every reason to want to feel safe.

Because of this, Sophia would likely do best as the only dog in the home — where she can soak up all the love, attention, comfy beds, and peace she deserves. And honestly, she deserves to be someone’s whole world. 🖤

We know senior, black, larger dogs are often overlooked. But we also know that dogs like Sophia are the ones who love the hardest. The grateful ones. The loyal ones. The ones who will quietly sit beside you and make your house feel like home.
