Coming to do Canine bodywork August 9 🐾
Text 574-326-3066 to schedule.
Great article on the benefits 🖤🤍
I haven't come across a post that explains why we want to increase blood flow/circulation in bodywork..
Here are my notes on some of what I've learned/read over the years...
General info:
• Our bodies are a living machine that is a UNIT, an abnormal structure or function in one part exerts abnormal influence in other parts
• If all the components are working properly, the “machine” should work well
• Increasing blood flow is important because it allows blood and oxygen to continuously flow throughout the body, supporting organ function, wound healing, brain health, heart function, and complexion.
Breathing lungs:
• Oxygen can’t be stored; it must be replenished continuously and steadily.
• Once oxygen is inhaled, it hitches a ride with RBC
• The RBC is primarily responsible for transporting oxygen from the lungs to the tissues.
• Oxygen gains access to the body’s cells through an internal network of vessels.
Heart:
• The heart is a champion - it works 24/7.
• It electrifies itself, maintains blood pressure, and acts as a pump to move blood.
• Works with the entire circulatory system
• Blood vessels are active, dynamic organs capable of contracting/expanding as they deliver nutrients and oxygen, and carry away waste products to help balance blood pressure throughout the whole body.
• Pump and vessels together make a closed system that begins and ends at the heart.
• The same (however many) liters of blood cycles through the body 24/7.
• Our blood vessels rhythmically contract/relax, which relies on the delivery of oxygen and nutrient rich blood to all organs and tissues.
• Every part of our body needs blood to deliver oxygen and nutrients.
• And just like the trash man, we need blood to take away all the built-up waste such as carbon dioxide and lactic acid.
• Blood vessels contract due to part of lifestyle choices, which means less waste being removed over time
• This can lead to dysfunction, which can disrupt cells & tissues, and can also restrict the tissues from getting the right nutrients, which can be lack of energy, poor fitness, challenge, and sleep routines.
• Function does affect structure just as decidedly as structure affection’s function. The body can function best in defense & repair when it is in correct structural alignment. Releasing restrictions allows blood flow to the area and helps repair the body
Picture of one of my personal horses to share with this post. I hope you learned something new today...
