Cimarron Neighbors- We need to be vocal with Elbert County and Town of Elizabeth!

WE NEED YOU TO SHOW UP AND HELP STOP MAJOR TRAFFIC BEING PUSHED THROUGH CIMARRON NEIGHBORHOODS!

Pinto Trail, Palomino Trail and Cimarron Neighorhood residents and property owners have been battling the Town of Elizabeth over the Gold Creek Commons development (adjacent to Cimarron on the east) located in a floodplain and directly connected to our neighborhood.

164 residential units - 82 of them are duplexes- VERY HIGH DENSITY!

Acres of commercial zoning, placed right next to homes and the open space park.

They were planning to build 164 housing, duplex and apartment units and commercial businesses right next to our outline which is an equstrain utility pathway.

Cimarron Park will have Commercial units right next to it.

The developer had planned to use Pinto and Palomino as major accesses. Pushing tons of cars onto Cimarron and into our neighborhoods. We could have had massive cars going down Palomino and Cimarron.

We are meeting with the County Commissioners- Wednesday, Nov. 19 to place our opinions on record in public comment.

The developer went back and requested the original PAD. The Palomino access is in their plan, and is described as an Emergency access but they are trying to take control of the easement (from Betty) cutting off the bridle trail.

We believe they plan to eventually use it as an entrance.

They re-platted the east boundary of Cimarron as commercial and took out all the open space connection to our wash as a park/trail. They can put businesses all along that boundary.
Also all the traffic from it will dump onto Hwy 86 just east of Cimarron Trail. Our 86 intersection will become impossible.

A friend of mine posted this, and EVERYONE in Elizabeth needs to know about it! Mary Earle Lydia Nordland-Uttley this directly affects you both as they plan on funneling people through your subdivision.
We all know how much I loathe crowds, how much I hate having all eyes in the room on me. Even with that extreme loathing, I plan on speaking for a few minutes at the meeting about my experiences of having horses in an area that gets developed. If I can do it, you can be there to show support - and maybe even add your own thoughts!

Attentional Cimarron residences and surrounding neighborhoods.
This Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Will be a board of trustees meeting at Town Hall.
They will be discussing the Gold Creek Commons neighborhood that will be directly east of cimarron trail. At this meeting they are primarily discussing traffic plans. The developer would like to connect the new development through Palomino and Pinto then down Cimarron.
At this meeting the city is looking for direction on what they should do. It is imperative that you show up and speak against this plan.
You will need to show up early in order to sign up for a slot to speak in the open forum.
Also to note, they would like the developer to widen 86 and connect east to 13. The developer is asking the city to share costs. It's also important to voice that the developer should be solely responsible for the costs.
It is also being proposed to make this a Metro district. This is a new term to me, but I've learned that this would impose an additional tax to all of the Gold Creek Commons residents. The idea of Gold Creek Commons is to create affordable housing. In fact, they are putting over 80 homes on only 5 acres. If they impose this Metro district tax, this would directly contradict the idea of affordable living.
If you would like to become more involved, please connect with smart growth Elizabeth.

Would the neighbor who took my package last week, which the mailman put the parcel key in the wrong mailbox, please return to me? The mailman went back 2 hrs later after we reported it missing and the neighbor had already opened the box and took the package specifically addressed to me. This was a birthday gift and specific to me, which was a sign with golden retrievers. We have a box up front and we ask you return. 34808 Cimarron Trail. We paid for this and cannot receive a a refund. Please be a decent person and neighbor and return this to the correct owner.

It's makes me happy to see the children playing ball on Cimarron Field once again. After many many years. My wife and friends played youth baseball there 30 years ago. It was worth uniting and speaking up to stop it's development into what was proposed.
Thanks to everyone who made the new ball field happen. Warms my heart.

With all the recent growth in Elizabeth I'm happy that Cimarron remains unchanged. Isolated somewhat from the development. Little has changed in the 14 years my family has lived here. Plus the eastern border was not high density developed. But instead 3 12 acre residential lots. Happy about that.

MEETING TONIGHT AT ELIZABETH HIGH SCHOOL 6 PM

This is about the town of Elizabeth's plans to annex 3 miles around the current city limits. The plan is to grow to an additional 20,000 homes. This will impact everything about our current lifestyle. Water, roads and traffic, water...... the city could require use of city water.

Come tonight and find out what is true or not. Come tonight to protect what you hold dear.

Mowing operations have begun at Cimarron Field. Looking forward to a great summer with all the neighbors.

We are Cimarron Subdivision Residents. We live here. We play here. We love our land, our open space! It’s our home. It’s unique.

Cimarron subdivision in Elizabeth, Colorado was established as a residential neighborhood in Elbert County in the late 1960’s early 1970’s. We are a unique neighborhood and will continue to be a highly sought out place to live in Elbert County.

We are property owners that have lots anywhere in size from about 5 acres up to close to 10 acres. There are 149 homes in Cimarron. We have one major roadway into the development- Cimarron Trail. We have a park, and many equestrian bridal paths and trails.

Cimarron Park was created for the residents in the Cimarron Subdivision, and at one time owned by the Highland Acres, Ltd. developers of the neighborhood. The developers gave it to Elbert County which in April 1995 Quick Claim Deed - gave the park for $10 to Elizabeth Parks and Recreation District (the Cimarron property owners pay a MILL LEVY TAX to Elizabeth Parks and Recreation District).

We have land for our homes. Our lot sizes will be soon be considered a luxury in Colorado and surrounding communities. We will be encased by high-density developments with multiple types of zoning and usage; multi-family, single-family, mixed-use retail and commercial developments. Soon enough, we will have large big-box retailers right off HWY 86. We also need to have and keep our open space for our development and property value.
