Luna. I rescued Luna from Stroud Oklahoma. Despite my getting her, she was loaded on the truck to Mexico. When they asked if I wanted her brought back?….of course!!! She quarantined in Oklahoma and then made her trek across the United States to Pennsylvania. She was boarded at Dun Dreamin in Bradford. Awesome place! It was exciting bringing her home to Leo, who perked up immediately when she came home, two peas in a pod in the beginning. Luna had issues with her sinuses from the beginning. I was hoping it was just a bad tooth but getting the extraction and multiple rounds of antibiotics did not fix the problem. The tumor grew despite meds and wishful thinking. This warmer weather here was too much and it was time to set a date to cross over the rainbow bridge. She decided to do it her own way, like she lived. She crossed over the rainbow early this morning with Leo watching over her. Luna was a special girl. Whenever I was upset, she would pull me into her and hug me tight. Her face would light up and her ears come forward whenever I came near. 💜. I will miss you Luna.

Yesterday was one of the saddest days. I found my Diamond had passed away. There is no rhyme or reason. No answers. Just an emptiness. She gained her wings and ran off over that beautiful rainbow bridge without my knowledge. Her family stayed with her until I arrived. You will be greatly missed, Big Girl. Thank you for spending your last years with me.

It’s been awhile. Life keeps moving forward. I would like to introduce Luna. #3 horse. This is what happens when you are looking at Facebook in the middle of the night and you see something that just snags your heart. This lady is stunningly beautiful. Fell in love the second I saw her at stroud KP in Oklahoma. She only had a few hours left before being sent to Mexico. I did it! I purchased her. Felt better and went to sleep. The next morning I messaged to see about her and they said someone had already purchased her. I did a sigh of relief…only to be told later that I was the one that purchased her but she had already been put on a trailer early that morning and shipped to Mexico. They asked if I wanted her returned and the response was…of course…. If she had been a red roan, her name would have been phoenix rising. Which was very appropriate in this particular setting. She is considered a bay roan. She was named after the moon. Luna. She had some nose issues. Still does. Constantly runs. Thought sinuses or a tooth. Tooth was removed. No improvement. Today she does have some swelling on her forehead so likely a mass of some kind. Still working on shrinking that. It has improved with herbs meant for shrinking masses…I’m happy about that. But she is sweet. When I’m having a rough time with anything, she will come up and hug me. Then hug me again because it wasn’t enough. Luna. 💜 Today she is about 23 yrs old. I’ve had her for 3 yrs almost. Time sure is flying by! I initially had her boarding at Dun Dreaming in Bradford. She was of course heart broken after being taken from her new friend in Oklahoma(1st picture) and remained aloof around the others. Then one day, she was 2nd. Was a little surprised. Then I brought her home, put her in with my newest fella Leo( more on him another time). He fell in love with her immediately. She was then mixed with the rest of the herd…wasn’t long until she took over the herd, which surprised me. She had some wounds from that though. Diamond relinquished leadership. But she was too much of a nice leader. Let the young ones run roughshod all over. She was brought back up to be companion to Tiago(neighbors horse that I am currently boarding) mostly because she needed antibiotics for another sinus infection. They became friends but she could be seen looking down the road yearning for her friends….now everyone is together. A feat…but home at last!
