I want to start out this message by saying how lucky I am to have had the support you all have given me as I’ve gone on this crazy adventure called dogs. However, in recent months I have forced myself to take a step back and evaluate my dogs, program, myself, and the future. Stoli and Ries are 5 and 4 respectively right now which means Stoli will officially be classified as a senior dog next September. I also retire all of my dogs around the age of 6 and with Ries’ cycle, along with the fact I don’t breed her more than two times in a row, that means her 2026 litter will be her last before retirement. I had kept back Julep from the Celebration litter in the hopes that she would be my next breeding dog but unfortunately Mother Nature had different plans and I decided she would be better as a companion dog than a breeding prospect.
What does this all mean for 2027 and beyond? It means that after next year I will not be breeding (at least not for the foreseeable future.) I want to focus on having fun with my dogs as they go into their golden years doing what they love to do-be that chasing plastic bags, finding rat tubes, going for hikes, or cuddling the day away. At this time I’m not sure when or even if I will get back to breeding because, let’s face it, breeding dogs and raising puppies takes a lot of time, effort, and money. Maybe in the future I will have another breeding prospect but for now I will be taking a break after Ries and Stoli’s retirement litter.
With all of that being said, we will still have one more litter between Stoli and Ries to look forward to. I will be keeping the application open until such a time that all puppies from their retirement litter have been placed after they are born. For those on the waiting list, be aware that I have no future planned breedings after 2026 should you decide to skip that litter and if I do not get to you on the list my deepest apologies. For past puppy buyers, I’m not going anywhere and you will still have my full support. For everyone else, I will be keeping this page up and running but I will be shifting the content type so people can stay up to date with Ries and Stoli’s adventures, accomplishments in their various sports, and to celebrate all the wonderful dogs I have helped bring into the world! Who knows, maybe I’ll even start doing more educational content or showcase Nyx, my non-Dal aka Cane Corso, who has been with me for over a decade!
Thank you all for being so wonderful and I have loved having each and every one of you here to enjoy the wonderful world of breeding and Dalmatians!
