Hi friends. 🙏🐾🤎
Just a friendly note to share that as a former teacher, I absolutely LOVE learning. I genuinely pray you feel more than welcome to share with me how I can improve my training techniques if at all you ever feel I am engaging or interacting with a dog incorrectly. I utilize much of the education I have gained through my human skills studies and experience as well as the knowledge I’ve gained from educating myself in canines. From the way their brain connects to us, to the way they communicate both in their packs or litters as well better understanding their highly complex senses and abilities to navigate their surroundings at maximum awareness.
Most importantly, I respect that dogs are dogs, not humans. I also respect that the greatest challenge in “dog training” is the disconnect in communication amongst humans (as the handler) and dogs (as the human’s companion).
I sincerely believe that I am the student in a lot of situations when working or observing canines. I work very hard at trying to stay humble enough to know that I absolutely do not know everything and that I am learning from hands on experience combined with my head knowledge of dogs. I apologize, however, sometimes I fall short. I use these opportunities where I may fall short to re-assess and re-teach myself so that I can get it right the next time. Because once again, I believe a lot of the “dog training” is actually “human training” to more accurately understand how these highly intelligent animals are attempting to communicate with us and how they are actively trying to show us just exactly what their skills are and how we can better exemplify them.
May God bless you.
Patience is key.
Please remember to be kind.
