Saddle Up! Gearing up for a safe mating season! πŸ™Œ We've got saddles for our turkey hens to protect them from our lovable but sharp-clawed male turkey. Last year, he accidentally injured one of our girls, so we're taking no chances this time around! 😍

New baby chicks huddle together mostly for warmth, safety, and comfort. It’s actually super important for their survival πŸ₯
🐣 1. They can’t regulate their body temperature yet
Newly hatched chicks don’t control their own heat very well. In nature, they’d stay under their mama hen to stay warm β€” so when they’re together, they basically become little fluffy heaters for each other.

🐣 2. Safety Instinct: Chicks natural instinct is β€œstick together = safer.” Being in a group makes them feel protected and less vulnerable.

🐣 3. Social Bonding & Comfort: Chickens are social from day one. Huddling helps them feel calm and reduces stress; kind of like babies wanting to be held close.
