🚨 FREE Vaccine Event! 🚨

You read that right - we're putting on a FREE Vaccine Event for our community in partnership with the Janesville Community Center, Inc.!

Here's all the details:
➡️ When - June 28th from 11am-3pm
➡️ Where - JCC (305 Lincoln St. Janesville, WI 53548)
➡️ Who - ANYONE with a pet (3m+) that needs vaccines!

Vaccines/Services Available:
💉 Rabies Vaccines
💉 DA2PP/FVRCP (Distemper) Vaccines
💉 Bordatella (Kennel Cough) Vaccines
💉 Lyme Disease Vaccines
💉 Leptospirosis Vaccines
🩺 Microchip

Important Notes:
🐾 Pets must be at least 3 months old
🐈 Cats must come and leave in a carrier*
🐕 Dogs must come and leave on a leash - NOT retractable*
🐩 If your dog is shy/reactive, please leave them in the car while you check in and ask the folks running the event for a muzzle and further instructions
👕 Dress for the weather - there may be waiting time outside
1️⃣ First come, first served until all funding is depleted (AKA no appointments)
*If you need a carrier or leash that day, ask any of the folks running the event for help.

Monday Morning Thoughts:

Everyone wants the perfect dog that you can bring to the park, events, grocery store and that loves every person & every dog it comes into contact with.

We are here to remind you that ITS OKAY if they don't. Like every human there are going to be places that you absolutely hate going to or maybe a person that isn't your cup of tea. We aren't perfect and we can't expect them to be either. We hear "its the owners fault" A LOT, but sometimes that is just how the dog is.

The most important thing is that you are both safe, happy, healthy and whatever situation you are in with them is working for you both. 🥰 Don't be afraid to reach out to trainers or your vet if you need help with your dog especially if they are displaying signs of aggression.

Winnebago County, IL!!

‼📣🚨FLASH SALE -Friday 7/5 and Saturday 7/6! Dog adoption fees will be waived for dogs at WCAS! 🚨📣‼

It's a busy time of year for us at Winnebago County Animal Services, and this week is typically one of our busiest with stray pets coming in due to the 4th of July holiday.
We are at capacity and facing difficult decisions in regards to space and lifesaving.
We have a full house here at our shelter and need to make room to help the influx of animals coming in.

We are hoping this gives anyone who has been thinking about bringing a new dog into their home the final inspiration to do so. All adopters will still go through our typical adoption process.

All adoptions include a wellness exam, spay or neuter, microchip, vaccinations including a one year rabies shot, flea and tick preventative, and more. Adopters are encouraged to have their application pre-approved prior to the event.

Winnebago County Animal Services and complete an adoption questionnaire. We are closed the 4th of July holiday. We are then open 11am to 4:30pm Friday and 11am until 3:30pm Saturday!

July is National Pet Hydration Month. A reminder that, with July's typically hot temperatures, your pet having access to plenty of water is important. If you enjoy long walks or hiking with your dog, be sure to take along a supply of water and a collapsible bowl for them.
