Update-6/11 @ 7:30 pm.
We spotted the dogs on one of the bridges. They bolted as soon as I even tried to approach. Luckily they did not get hit (it is a very busy highway) and went underneath. We have found where they have been hanging out during the day and where they stay. We will be trying to find the owner of the land to see if we can set live traps. The black female is badly injured. Not only does she have quills in her face, she is limping and has a nasty open wound on her shoulder. The male is also limping. Both are very skinny. This is now even more urgent as infection for her is bound to set in. Please keep them in your thoughts and pray we can secure them safely in time! 🙏

If anyone knows someone who could possibly dart them, that would be extremely helpful as we cannot get very close at all!

Turns out the two dogs in Paint Rock running lose that were dumped are still around. They look more Lab than described. The female has porcupine quills in her face. If we can catch them would anyone be willing to help with vetting and possibly fostering?

DEAR SAN ANGELO RESIDENTS PLEASE GO GET YOUR DOGS FROM THE SAN ANGELO ANIMAL SHELTER ASAP!!!

They are sitting in tiny kennels 24 hours a day, waiting for you to show up and save them. Dogs are being euthanized at an alarming rate! Owner surrenders are at an all time high.
PLEASE stop getting these animals if you aren't going to keep them! They don't get to choose their owners! These faces could all be gone within the next month to make space for more. It is beyond devastating, they don't deserve this! 💔

Help is out there, you just have to ask and be willing to keep your pet!!

This boy is an absolute goofball! He made me laugh so much today! His name is Nate and he thinks he is a lap sized Chihuahua. He climbed onto the table then into my lap and wanted to be held! Such a sweet boy and unfortunately one of the longer stays at the shelter. Meaning his life could be in danger soon! Someone please go get this goofy boy! 🥹🙏
