Eagle River Dog Training Center My name is Heide, I started at Eagle River Animal Hospital in 2019 working as a Veterinary Assistant. I share my home with three pups, Venus, Zeus and Scout.

I live in Eagle River with my husband, Jason, and three kids, Christopher, Addy, and Ava Jo. In my spare time, I love to conquer fitness goals and I have completed an ultramarathon. While working at Eagle River Animal Hospital, I learned many things. Animal behavior was something I wanted to learn more about. My love for animal behavior and training began when I rescued a puppy that I named Zeus.

Zeus had severe injuries and needed daily bandage changes. When I started working with Zeus, we had an instant connection. That relationship inspired me to help others to find that connection with their pets and in 2020 I started a training program with “Pawsitively Unleashed”, a dog training business in central Wisconsin. I cannot wait to continue to grow and learn as a dog trainer and help owners find their pets’ purpose and create a strong pet & owner connection.

🎓🐾 Here’s the first round of graduates from the first half of the week!

From Puppy Class and Adult Basics to Scent Work, Walk With Me, and CGC, these teams have been putting in the work and it shows! We’ve had so much fun watching these pups grow in confidence, build new skills, and strengthen their bond with their handlers.

Congratulations to all of our graduates! 🎉 We’re so proud of the progress you’ve made and can’t wait to see what you accomplish next. Keep practicing, keep learning, and most importantly keep having fun with your dogs! ❤️🐶

🐾 Summer Group Class Sessions 🐾

Classes will be starting the week of Monday, June 29th through Thursday, July 2nd and ending the week of Monday, August 10th through Thursday, August 13th.
We will have no class the last week of Monday July 27th through Thursday July 30th

💲 Class fees start at $130. Full payment is due at the time of registration. Proof of Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations are required.
Puppies must have age-appropriate vaccinations completed

Group classes are approximately 40 minutes long and meet once weekly for 6 weeks.

No one likes seeing their dogs nervous or scared. With the month of July right around the corner, now is the time to start getting your dogs prepared for those scary fireworks noises. Starting early can help them feel more relaxed and confident when the booms begin. Less stress for them equals a more relaxing holiday for you too!

Adult class last night took full advantage of the rain holding off, and we headed outside! We’ve been working hard on building a solid heel and “place,” then taking those skills into all different environments and experiences. The dogs did an amazing job staying focused outside with all the extra distractions. So proud of the hard work these teams are putting in every single week! 🐾

I’ll say it again, and I’ll say it a million more times experiences equal socialization.

Yes, it’s important for dogs to be socialized with other humans and other dogs, of course. But it’s just as important that we give them as many different experiences as possible. We want our puppies to grow into strong, independent, resilient dogs with all the amazing qualities that help them become well-mannered companions.

Tonight, these puppies experienced so many new things, and they absolutely crushed it. Watching their confidence grow with every new challenge is exactly why we do what we do. 🐾

Talk about some exhausted handlers… lol. Over 300 different signs worked through today and these teams absolutely rocked...

Talk about some exhausted handlers… lol. Over 300 different signs worked through today and these teams absolutely rocked it! From focus and communication to teamwork and confidence, every single handler and dog gave it their all. Mental work like this is no joke, and these pups ( and their handlers) are definitely going home tired tonight! So proud of the progress, dedication, and teamwork we saw today. 🐾💪
