Eagle River Dog Training Center My name is Heide, I started at Eagle River Animal Hospital in 2019 working as a Veterinary Assistant. I share my home with three pups, Venus, Zeus and Scout.

I live in Eagle River with my husband, Jason, and three kids, Christopher, Addy, and Ava Jo. In my spare time, I love to conquer fitness goals and I have completed an ultramarathon. While working at Eagle River Animal Hospital, I learned many things. Animal behavior was something I wanted to learn more about. My love for animal behavior and training began when I rescued a puppy that I named Zeus.

Zeus had severe injuries and needed daily bandage changes. When I started working with Zeus, we had an instant connection. That relationship inspired me to help others to find that connection with their pets and in 2020 I started a training program with “Pawsitively Unleashed”, a dog training business in central Wisconsin. I cannot wait to continue to grow and learn as a dog trainer and help owners find their pets’ purpose and create a strong pet & owner connection.

Focus & Control Camp Recap!
This week’s Focus and Control Camp was absolutely awesome! It was such a joy watching all the progress unfold between the pups and their handlers. From building stronger connections to mastering new skills, everyone showed up and put in the work!

These teams are heading home with a toolbox full of new techniques to help maintain that focus, boost confidence, and keep the momentum going. So proud of all the hard work and dedication can’t wait to see where you all go from here! 💪🐾

What an incredible week! Both camps absolutely crushed it the progress these handlers and their pups made in just 4 days was nothing short of awesome. From leash skills to mastering those essential basics, the teamwork and growth were amazing to watch.

Can’t wait to welcome everyone back this fall for our full 6-week session. You’re all rockstars! 💪🐾💕

Sometimes, a dog comes into your life as a trainer and completely changes everything.

Patton is one of those dogs. He challenged me in all the right ways and pushed me to grow as a trainer. When other programs failed him, I knew I had to dig deep not only to earn his trust, but to rebuild the human’s trust in the process, too.

Over the last five months, watching Patton and his handler grow together has been nothing short of incredible. Their progress, their partnership, and their resilience have been the biggest paycheck I could ever receive.

Congratulations to both of them on passing their first Focus & Control class and officially moving into mainstream training! I couldn’t be prouder of this team. The best is yet to come. 💪🐾❤️

I hope you have a safe, joyful holiday surrounded by family, friends, and maybe a few tail wags.

A special thank you to all of our military members past and present for your service and sacrifice. And to the incredible service dogs who stand beside our veterans every step of the way… thank you.

Unless you’ve seen one of these animals work up close, it’s hard to understand the true impact they have. They are more than partners they are lifelines, guardians, and unwavering support.

Feeling beyond blessed to do what I do and to witness the power of the human-dog bond every day.

Stay safe. Be kind. And hug your dog for me. 🐾❤️💙

Holy amazing week with this agility group!
From learning how to keep their dogs engaged, to tackling brand new obstacles, to building strong connections — every single pup in this group went from zero to 60 in no time! 🚀🐾
The progress was unreal, and the energy was off the charts.
