There's a reason the saying "it's like taking candy from a baby" is an idiom for something being easy. It is very easy for your dog to take food right from the hands of babies, toddlers, and children, exposing them both to a more dangerous situation.

1️⃣ Food is one main point that can cause aggression or resource guarding in dogs, which can be unsafe for kids who don't always understand dog behavior.
2️⃣ Not all human food is safe for dogs to consume, but it's unlikely the dog or the child will stop them.

We recommend:
- Teaching your dog not to sit near highchairs or claim space at the table.
- Not feeding the dog out of your hand or letting your kids feed them out of their hands.
- Teach your kids to stay away from dogs while they're eating.
- Don't leave your child alone with a dog while eating.

Have you ever wondered why you can't take home a new puppy until they're at least 8 weeks old? Well, puppies are still learning how the world works, just like infants!

During their first 8 - 10 weeks, puppies learn critical social skills from their mother and littermates. This is when they begin to understand canine communication, bite inhibition, play boundaries, body language, and how to respond to corrections from other dogs.

These early lessons help shape confidence, emotional regulation, and social behavior. But while puppies learn how to live with dogs during this stage, they still need guidance to learn how to live successfully with people. Early training can make a huge difference in helping your puppy hit important milestones!

If fireworks started tonight… would your dog know how to stay calm? 🎆

July 4th is coming up, and loud noises are one of the biggest sources of fear and panic for dogs. Because dogs hear sounds much more intensely than we do, fireworks and storms can feel overwhelming very quickly.

One of the best things you can do is prepare before the noise starts:
✔️ Create a safe, comfortable den space
✔️ Keep windows and curtains closed
✔️ Use calm music or TV for background noise
✔️ Stay relaxed and confident yourself
✔️ Double-check ID tags and microchip information

Dogs — they make you smile! 🤣
Each one has their own unique personality, quirks, and way of making life a little brighter. From the goofy ones to the serious ones, the confident ones to the cautious ones, every dog brings something special to the people who love them.
That's one of the many reasons we love what we do. 😊

Having some fun in the sun! ☀️🐾
Whether it's a walk, a swim, or just soaking up some sunshine, life's a little better when shared with your dog. These simple moments are often the ones that mean the most. 💛

Who reaches me first? 🐾
Fun obstacle exercises are a great way to engage your dog’s brain, build confidence, and encourage problem-solving. Set it up, give them space, and let them figure it out!
Sometimes the best training moments happen when we simply step back and let our dogs think. 💛
