💔Blu my heart, love, best friend, my wingman, with a very heavy heart we had to let him go on November 12, 2024. I Love You Monkey!
I cannot seem to find the right words for how much Blu meant, as Blu had and still will have such an impact on my life.
It all started after wanting to get a puppy after not having a dog in my life at that time. This was weeks before Christmas and Michelle said I want a puppy with blue eyes. I told her this was going to be a slim chance of happening. We went to look at puppies at the shelter, but of course they were being snatched up before we could even see them.
After this happening multiple times the lady said, well a guy just called he is bringing in some puppies. I wait and see someone come in with a big tub. He puts it down and I look in, and I see a puppy with bright blue eyes, white marking on his nose and feet. I pick him up and I knew God put this puppy in our life. So of course I called him Blu.
Blu grew up to be a confident, happy, loving, strong minded dog. I loved spending time with him as the world around me didn't matter when I was doing so.
Blu opened the door for dog training with me. As I wanted to teach him new things, spend time with him, and give him freedom that he enjoyed. He impacted so many dog's lives by getting them to open up, to look up to him, and just have fun.
Blu's love for the outdoors and not just anywhere, but trails, and especially the mountains. Taking him to the mountains he would light up and just look at me like, I love this. This got me started in backpacking. Taking Blu on multi night trips in the woods away from everyone. These are some of the best and memorable moments I had with him.
I feel having loved ones means the most in this life. Spending time with them is so important and needs to be cherished. Time goes by so fast and you start wishing you can just have one more day, one more moment with them.
Blu has such a special place in my heart and he will always be greatly missed.
What Happened?
Blu was taken care of incredibly well with top nutrition, supplements, and titers for only necessary vaccines to maximize his immune system. Even though we took this approach, he was diagnosed the end of May with a very fragile cancerous tumor on his liver, and again in September with a very aggressive form of cancer (Melanoma) on his soft palate. The vet said with our care it was highly probable it was genetic. There was no traditional treatment for a variety of reasons, and we still tried to help him fight with an integrative approach with assistance and research with nutrition, TCVM, acupuncture, and other supplementation.
1 in 3 dogs statistically will develop a form of cancer at some point in their lives. It is not just a genetic disease, and we do have some control to reduce their risk, prevent it, or prolong their life. Learn about pet nutrition, supplementation, reducing toxicity, improving immunity, etc. Along with finding a very well versed open minded vet that truly cares to take the time to care about your dog.
