🌼🐾 Is Your Pet Struggling with itchyness? 🐾🌼
Well it could be due to allergies!
Just like people, pets can experience allergies—especially during the spring and summer months when pollen and other environmental allergens are at their highest. If you’ve noticed your pet scratching, licking, or seeming uncomfortable lately, allergies could be the reason.
Allergies can make our furry friends pretty miserable, but the good news is there are many ways we can help manage their symptoms and keep them comfortable.
If your pet is showing signs of allergies, give us a call! Our team would be happy to help determine the cause and discuss the best treatment options to get your pet feeling better again. 🐶🐱💙

Q: What’s the difference between a dog and a marine biologist?
👉 One wags his tail… and the other tags his whales! 🐶🐋

🐾Honoring Our Four-Legged Heroes — K9 Veterans Day🐾
Today is K9 Veterans Day! While it may not be widely known, this important day is dedicated to honoring and thanking the incredible four-legged service members who have bravely served our country alongside their handlers.
These dogs demonstrate unwavering courage, loyalty, and heart—and they deserve just as much recognition as the humans they served beside. Today, we pause to remember, honor, and celebrate these true heroes. 🐶💙
If you’d like to help support or raise awareness for retired and active military working dogs, we’re sharing a few amazing organizations that are making a real difference:
• Mission K9 Rescue — Dedicated to rescuing, reuniting, and rehabilitating retired military working dogs
• Warrior Dog Foundation — Focused on helping military working dogs transition into retirement with dignity and care
• Paws of Honor — Provides free veterinary care to retired military K9s to support their handlers
All three organizations are deeply passionate about caring for our four-legged heroes, and we encourage you to learn more and support them however you’re able.
Today, and every day, we thank our K9 veterans for their service.🐾

🌸🐾 Spring Is Here… and So Is Kitten Season! 🐾🌸
With spring in the air comes kitten season, and we wanted to share a few important tips on what to do if you happen to come across a litter of kittens this time of year.
We totally understand the instinct to scoop them up and rush them to safety—but if the kittens appear healthy and are in a safe location away from immediate danger, the best first step is often to wait and watch. Mom may be nearby hunting for food, hiding from people, or simply taking a well-deserved break (even mama cats need one! 💕).
In most cases, the very best care kittens can receive is from their own mother. If possible, try to locate mom and keep the family together—bringing everyone in at once leads to the best outcome for both mom and babies.
If you need help caring for kittens, finding resources, or safely trapping mom, there are wonderful local organizations ready to help, including La Plata County Humane Society and Cat Care Durango.
If you’re unsure what to do or have concerns about a litter you’ve found, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re always happy to help guide you through the next steps. 🐱💙

🌱🐾 Spring is here, and even our feline friends might be feeling inspired to get their paws dirty!

Q: What do you call a cat who loves gardening?
👉 A paw-tanist! 😸🌼

Whether your cat is helping (or supervising) in the garden, they always find a way to keep things interesting. 💚🐱

Tell us — does your cat “help” in the yard or just nap in the sun? ☀️😹

🐾⚠️ Animal Poison Prevention Month ⚠️🐾
This month, we’re highlighting Animal Poison Prevention Month and sharing a few important steps on what to do if you suspect your pet may have been exposed to a toxin.
We know these situations are often unexpected and scary—and you’re not alone. We’re here to help you and your furry loved ones every step of the way. 💙🐶🐱
Check out the steps below and keep these tips in mind:
• Don’t wait to seek treatment. Even if your pet isn’t showing symptoms yet, some toxins can cause severe damage before signs appear. Early care can be lifesaving.
• Be honest with us. We’re here to help, not judge. If your pet may have been exposed to anything—including recreational drugs—we need that information to provide the safest and most effective treatment.
Your pet’s health and safety are always our top priority. If you’re ever unsure, it’s better to call sooner rather than later. If you are unable to get in contact with us; The ASPCA Poison Control Center has a 24/7 hotline and they can be reached at (888) 426-4435 🐾💙

👍🐾 Tomorrow is “If Your Pet Had Thumbs Day,” and it got us thinking… What would our pets do if they had thumbs?!
We asked some of our team, and the answers did not disappoint:
• One pup would immediately raid the fridge 🧊🐶
• Another would steal a tennis ball and play nonstop for hours 🎾
• And one cat? Let’s just say… they’d be far too powerful with thumbs 😼
Now it’s your turn — what do you think your pet would do if they had thumbs? Tell us in the comments!

🐾💙 Spay & Neuter Month Reminder 💙🐾
Since it’s Spay & Neuter Month and we’ve already shared why spaying and neutering is important, we wanted to take a moment to talk about when it may be best to schedule the procedure. Timing can vary depending on your pet’s age, breed, health, and lifestyle.
Because every pet is unique, it’s always best to consult with your veterinarian to determine the right time for your pet. The simple guidelines shared below can help start the conversation. If you have questions or would like to schedule a consultation with our veterinarian, please give us a call—we’re always happy to help! 🐶🐱

Q: What did the dog biscuit say when it saw the dog?
👉 “Oh crumbs!”
And what better day for a biscuit joke than International Dog Biscuit Day! 🦴🎉
It’s the perfect excuse to spoil your pup with their favorite treat (in moderation, of course 😉).
Happy International Dog Biscuit Day to all the good dogs out there! 💙🐶
