Why do I love frozen blueberries as daily treats? (Frozen are the better ones😉)

Antioxidants:
Blueberries are rich in antioxidants like vitamin C and anthocyanins, which help reduce inflammation and support immune health.

Fiber: Supports healthy digestion and regular bowel movements.

Did you know.. (this is why understanding canine communication is so important)

Dogs sneeze to show that their intentions are friendly. It’s like saying, “This is just for fun!” This helps prevent rough play from escalating into a fight. By sneezing around the same time, dogs reinforce that they’re both still engaged in friendly play and not being aggressive, even if their play looks rough (wrestling, chasing, growling).

So, synchronized sneezing during play is a playful, peacekeeping tool, not a health concern 😁

Next time your dogs are playing pay close attention you’ll see this.

This past weekend Chloe, Stella and Leo loved having each others company. Playing keep away and fetch. 🤗

One of my FAVORITE activities to do with dogs 😎

Letting your dog tear up a cardboard box might look like destruction, but it actually has several benefits for their physical and mental well-being 😉 📦

Why is hitting a dog never a good idea?
This is for anyone who thought negative reinforcement with their hand over their dogs backend was a good idea

It damages trust.
•Dogs are social animals who thrive on trust and connection with their humans. Hitting causes fear, confusion, and anxiety, which breaks the bond between you and the dog. A fearful dog may become defensive or aggressive over time.

It Causes Emotional and Physical Harm.
•Dogs can feel both emotional pain and physical pain. Hitting can lead to injuries, bruising, or long-term behavioral issues like nervousness, shaking, or submission peeing. Repeated punishment can result in chronic stress, which affects a dog’s immune system and lifespan.

It Doesn’t Teach, It Confuses.
•Dogs learn through association and repetition, not punishment. Hitting doesn’t teach them what they should do, it only teaches them to fear the moment. This leads to more misbehavior, not less, because the dog is confused or scared, not educated.

Ultimately, hitting a dog is inhumane, ineffective, and can lead to fearful or aggressive behavior. A calm, consistent, and kind approach is the best way to raise a well-adjusted and obedient dog.

If a dog’s behavior is really challenging, consider working with a professional positive reinforcement trainer.
