We have too many lead dogs right now if anyone is interested in adding some speed to their team.

I'm convinced that big haired Stacey, Lacey, Tracey and cousin Tammy from Florida think everything north of Texas is a frozen wasteland.

If your partner is mad at you, buy a new dog. They're going to be mad at you anyways, but at least you'll have a new dog.

People ask quite often how sled dogs don't freeze their paw pads and mistake booties for warmth. Fact is, dogs are designed for cold and hot surfaces as long as it's not extreme.

Snow is 95-98% air and not cold at all. A shoveled sidewalk in winter is actually colder.

It's hard for them because they're so easily manipulated that they believe anything anyone tells them without taking the time to find out for themselves. What's with the selective outrage?

I've never had anyone actually prove to us how mushing is "cruel." Emotions do not outweigh facts.

It's easy Diane, the same way you tell all of your WHITE friends at bingo apart.

Walking 2 litters of puppies together that were 4 days apart and have the same sire can take some time to sort when they get home. But when you spend as much time as we do with our dogs it's easy to tell who is who.

Do you know all of their names?

No, I just give them numbers but lost count after 10...

Keep the houses dry, packed with straw, and extra calories during the cold spells and our dogs are perfectly fine.

They're acclimatized to the environment they work in.

These little guys are excellent mousers. Some folks in rural areas trap them for fur which I think is a mistake.

They cause no harm and do WAY more good than bad. This weasel is ready for winter with it's coat turned from brown to white just like snowshoe hares.
