Here's the truth: Letting everyone pet your puppy and allowing your pup to greet every dog they see is not socialization. Real socialization isn't about the quantity of interactions. It's more about the quality of exposures. Teach your puppy that the world is a safe place through positive and calm observations.

I often wish I had some better photos of me with my previous heart dog before she suddenly got diagnosed with cancer and quickly passed away at only 5 years of age. Therefore, I jumped at the chance to have pet photos taken by Stacey Russ Sherman at BarkHop Studio with my current dog. Despite my awkwardness and my dog's inability to sit still, she still managed to capture incredible shots AND make the experience special and enjoyable. Don't wait too long and miss out on an opportunity to capture a memory that you will cherish for a lifetime.

We all hope it never happens, but being prepared for the unexpected makes all the difference. So let me ask you—do you have a safety plan in place for your pet? Is your vet's contact info saved in your phone AND tucked in your wallet? And here's the big one that often gets overlooked: do you have emergency funds set aside for unexpected vet visits?

If you have a pet, you know that you will probably have to make an unexpected visit to the vet at some point.
(and they usually aren't cheap!!)

That's why having an EMERGENCY FUND is crucial.

The last thing you want to do is go into debt by putting it on your credit card and then have to pay high interest charges on top of the expense.

Be prepared! Have a plan! Save yourself some stress!

🎉 Congrats to these new Canine Good Citizens! We are so proud to celebrate these amazing dog-owner teams who passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen 10-skill test on obedience and manners. Without a single treat, they accomplished these skills:

✓ Accepting a friendly stranger
✓ Sitting politely for petting
✓ Sitting politely for grooming
✓ Walking on a loose leash
✓ Walking through a crowd
✓ Sitting and lying down on command and staying in place
✓ Coming when called
✓ Remaining calm around another dog
✓ Remaining calm despite distractions
✓ Handling supervised separation from their owner
