Yesterday, we had the honor of welcoming state and city leaders, the new DPS Superintendent, DPS Board Members, Sterling FFA Director , Sauk Valley Impact students, Eagles Nest Plein Painters, and our college bound animal science volunteers for a private tour of Kitzman’s Farm Sanctuary.

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share our mission, our animals, and our vision for the future. Our hope is to expand our land and create a community and educational center that will provide hands-on learning, inspire future generations, and strengthen connections throughout our community.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to visit, listen, and learn about the impact this dream can have for our community. Your support, encouragement, and belief in our vision mean more than words can express. We are hopeful for the future and excited to continue building something that will serve our community for generations to come. ❤️🐐🌱🏡

Last night, we received a message from a man who said all the right things.

“I found a baby raccoon. I placed it in a box at the base of the tree where I found it. I didn’t feed it anything because I read that it’s best not to. I’m going to leave it overnight and hope mom comes back.”

This morning, he arrived with the baby in tow.

Sadly, mom never returned, but because he took the time to research what to do and gave her every opportunity to reclaim her baby, this little one now has the best possible chance. Too often, well-meaning people remove wildlife too quickly or try to feed them before seeking help.
