New addition alert!! This little guy joined our herd Friday well Leahs Netherland Dwarf Bunnies was making they're way to convention! First broken Netherland in the herd! He's a broken black tort with not enough color to show, but man is he cute! So everybody welcome, Leah's Domino! Hoping he'll produce me some fun patterns and showable broken babies in the future! This is my second rabbit from Leah and i'm super happy with both of them. Congrats on your convention wins Leah!

Next up: The Jersey Woolys!
#1
Diamond Ridge's/Oak Pond Acres Cookies n' Cream
Cookie is my broken black doe who I absolutely LOVE 😍 Now i'm still getting the hang of knowing what to look for in Jerseys, BUT from what I do know, I think shes pretty nice 😂 Or I might just be biased 🤫🙃 She'll hopefully be bred soon since I've been wanting more jersey wooly babies so bad right now since I had my last litter. She's Sr age now and I wish I could show her but shes over weight like her mom 🥲 At least she looks nice for a bigger doe!
#2
Diamond Ridge's/Oak Pond Acres Cloudy
Cloudy is Cookie's full sister and also really nice but not showable 😭 He's a charlie so he doesn't have enough color to show. He still really really cute and I wish I could keep him but he's still looking to hop if anyone is interested! He's the sweetest boy out there, comes up to his cage every morning just wanting pets! Love him and wish he could stay just as a pet, but pets don't have a place here unless they mean a whole lot to me
#3
Oak Pond Acre's Barely Legal (aka Wisp)
I don't have current photos of her right now. Wisp currently doesn't live here, she was my first Jersey Wooly and I love her so much but man has she been a turd lately! Me and my mentor have been trying to get her bred but she just won't take! Her last litter was in March and that was Cookie and Cloudy so I don't know how much longer she'll be owned by me if she doesn't have a litter soon 😅🤦‍♀️
Huge thank you to Izzy Bukovich (It won't let me tag you I hope you see this Izzy 😆) for helping me get started on my Woolys and being my mentor through all my rabbits!

Diamond Ridge's Willow
The rabbit I am by far most proud of right now. He just turned Senior age and still looks so good! So glad this guy popped up in one of my litters out of my favorite doe! Bonus points for being tort 😉
#2
Laura & Ruth's 3K
So happy about this girl. I picked her up at the MN State Convention in Hutchinson MN in September and couldn't be more happy with her! She looked a little scrawny when I got her but MAN, she has really grown into herself and I couldn't be more happy to add this beautiful fox girl to my Tort/Fox program ❤️
Thank you Laura & Ruth's Dwarfs For this girl! She'll help me out so much
#3
Diamond Ridge's Black Sugar
This girl is a TANK shes looking really nice especially for being a brood doe as she gets older. Shes already over Senior weight and shes not even a senior yet 😅 Shes a big girl with good type and there's not much more you can ask for in a brood doe! Her ears are a little long but gosh are they thick and well furred! Shes going to make some pretty babies here!

Some Pretty boys who got taken out tonight! Henryk was judging me quite a lot for trying to mess with him but we'll let it slide cause who can resist a squishy face like that! So excited to watch the younger boys grow up and be having litters soon! Willow is almost a sr! Just a couple more days! Excited to see how he starts doing on the show tables when we start going to more local shows around December! French Man (aka Alphonse) Is really starting to pop! He looks a lot like his dad (Henryk) but has some new qualities that I believe will help my herd a lot! He's going on 5 months old and already doing good on the show tables! Excited to see what this guy can get under his belt once he matures more! NFS

These are words of wisdom every rabbit breeder should follow. Now I don't think i'll ever be able to bring myself to cull a rabbit just because it has bad type or the wrong type of pattern to the standard, but I do need to let myself come to the realization that some times culling is what is best for the rabbit. Weather it has a genetic condition, teeth problems, or even and injury after birth, keep the rabbits best interest in mind. ❤️ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17GVq162Ab/

Not every rabbit should be saved. I know that’s hard to hear. But it’s the truth. And someone needs to say it. Not every rabbit is meant to be rehomed, and not every rabbit will thrive in a pet home. And not every rabbit should be passed along just because someone means well.

I have seen rabbits with broken backs kept alive for photos, overbred rescue stock treated with more emotion than medical sense, aggressive bucks listed for rehoming with no warning, and hoarding cloaked in kindness. And it’s not helping.

Some rabbits are born with poor structure, bad teeth, weak bones, or aggressive temperaments. Some can come from lines that were bred irresponsibly for years. Others are so stressed or sick that “rescuing” them becomes prolonging their suffering. Culling is not cruelty. It’s clarity.

And honestly, this is something I didn’t used to understand. It’s something I’ve learned over time, listening to breeders with more experience than me. I’ve started asking more questions, making connections, reading, watching, learning. Every single day I grow a little more confident in doing what’s right for my animals, even if it’s not easy. And this is one of those things that has made all the difference.

I cull with intention. I remove rabbits from my program that are not a fit for the future I’m building. Sometimes that means harvest or sale. And yes sometimes it means a clean, necessary end. And I do not regret that. Because not every rabbit should stay just because it’s breathing.

This isn’t just about livestock. It’s about the why behind raising animals at all. I don’t raise rabbits to collect them, or gather pity. I raise them with the purpose of food, learning, structure, and sustainability. That means saying no, and making decisions that hurt before they help.

I love my rabbits. I give them space, toys, calm, and care. But I will not keep one that is suffering just to make myself feel better. That isn’t love. That’s ego. So the next time someone says “I could never,” I believe them. But don’t confuse that with a moral high ground. Because while they’re wringing their hands about saving every rabbit, I’m here making sure the ones I raise have a clean life, a clear purpose, and a kind end.
