At peace. Gus Gus, entered the rainbow bridge with grace and courage. I was present when Baby Gus was born and with her when she left this world. ♥️💔
Thank you, for loving Gussy and enjoying her fun filled life adventures. It was a wild ride with Gus Gus. She was our beloved pet, friend and family member. We are all devastated over the loss of such a brilliant, silly, entertaining little girl. She was always my Baby Gus, even though she was uniquely independent. We will love her-always, and cherish our 13 years of a special bond and happy memories.
For now, I may go silent, as I’m still grieving and talking about Gusser, makes me cry.
It has taken me two weeks to write this message for you all, without breaking down.
Gussy’s last night was spent sleeping next to me. The next morning, she did not get up to go for her usual walk. Instead, She took a nap and I lay down next to her, until she woke up. I had to help her down the stairs. She put her waving paw in my hand. Which she never used to do. She did picker-paws in my hand, also not something she did. when she looked up at me, I knew, she was ready. Through her sickness, she never made a sound. Silent fighter. So brave. But I knew, she was asking for help. Gus was not living her best life. When I took her to the vet that afternoon, she looked up at me, put her paw in my hand once again, and did more picker-paws… As if to say, “I will be okay and you will be okay-I’m ready”. I told her, “Gus Gus, I love you more than any cat I have ever known, you are my baby forever. It is okay to go, you will be missed by your entire family, but we will continue to love you forever. Find peace and be happy and come visit us”. Gus let me pet her belly and kiss her head, and I kept her paw in my hand.
She closed her eyes. And my heart was immediately broken.
Full transparency, Gus‘s Vet had not been taking proper care of her. So we took her to a different vet. In the one hour we were in their office, they showed Gus more compassion and love, than her vet had given her in months. I will be forever grateful to that Vet and his team, for immediately loving Gus and helping her over the rainbow bridge with decency and kindness.
Gus’ presence in the house is definitely missed. Even our other cats are grieving her loss. She was the most special kitty and a calming alpha. We miss her paw-waving/sign language for snacks, ringing her bells to go for a walk on her leash and her distinct meow which demanded attention (which she always got from me). She loved riding in the car and visiting friends and family and the pet store. There will never be another Gus Gus.
May her bright shining spirit feel happiness, healing and L♥️VE, more than ever before.
Goodnight, My Dittle Dittle

Love and hugs,
