After 6 long days and nights on the lam, RUDY'S HOME!!!
Hey everyone! It's Gina.
I want to thank every single person that engaged this page or posted Rudy’s sighting on Next door, Ring Camera as well as all the many other leads over the last 6 days.
A huge grateful SHOUT OUT to all the people who drove every street where Rudy was seen the last 6 days. Especially the helpers that dropped everything and met up this morning. I don’t know each person’s name, but thank you Martha Schroeder, and the lovely woman whose name I did not get but who came with hot dogs, backup help and her own dog to search, too! If each one of you weren’t there today to help corral Rudy, he may not be home tonight.
A big THANK YOU to Joy Morris Brietzke for calling in Kathi Crifasi and Rick Canales to help trap. And a HUGE thank you to Kathi and Rick who were willing to drop everything and head over to where Rudy was sighted to set up traps. Thankfully Rudy was caught before they arrived but, I mean, who does this??? What an incredible crew of people that came together in less than 24 hours. There are not enough words to say how amazing you are!
Most importantly, S. Barber Kennedy is the BEST dog dad! Barber has spent the last 6 days and nights fielding leads, driving back and forth between Corktown and the West Village at all hours, walking miles through fields and more abandoned buildings that one can count all in search of Rudy! It was not easy but he never lost hope.
It takes a village! That is for sure. There will be a lot of people, and 1 very tired pup, sleeping well tonight. So much to be grateful for!
