Legacy Kennels Michigan We are a small Michigan based preservation
breeder of the German Spitz. Breeding for type and temperament. Puppy Culture curriculum. We do not place by color.

Thank you for checking out our page! We are a small Michigan based breeder of the German Spitz Mittel. We breed for consistent type and temperament. Conformation, sporting, and pet homes are considered. All puppies are raised and socialized in our home by our entire family. Potential homes are carefully screened. We do not ship. This is an incredible breed and we are thrilled to be able to share them with our selected families.

CONDITIONING EXERCISES

Improving your dogs up and down

** We can do a video tutorial if needed?? **

The corridor:

Encourages the dog to travel in a perfectly straight line.

Prevents drifting, crabbing, or swinging the rear.

Builds muscle memory for straight up-and-down patterns in the ring.

Helps the dog focus forward rather than on the handler.
Improves drive from behind.

How to Work It

Start walking through.
Progress to a controlled trot.
Keep your eyes forward.
Reward at the end, not during.
Gradually narrow the corridor as the dog becomes straighter.

The goal isn't to force the dog into a tiny space, but to create guide rails that teach it to move straight under its own balance.

This is particularly useful for dogs that tend to:

Look up at the handler and drift.
Swing their rear on the down-and-back.
Move slightly sideways when excited.

We sometimes use a toy or bait placed on a cone at the far end so the dog learns to drive straight ahead rather than focus on the handler.

2026 Litter Announcement:
Izlou's Let's Rock This x Lark Rapidamente CGC, TKN, FCAT are expecting pups in mid June. Since this is an oops litter (completely my fault), this will be a "Scandal" themed litter.

We are accepting show prospect and companion applications.

🛁 Dog Drying 101: Understanding Blaster Nozzles

1) Wide Concentrator Nozzle

Strong airflow over a wider area.
Best all-round drying nozzle.
Great for blasting water out of double coats

2) Flat Fan Nozzle

Spreads the air.
Useful for fluff drying and laying coat flat while brushing.
Often preferred for show preparation.

3) Round Nozzle

More focused airflow than using no nozzle.
Good for getting into feathering, trousers, mane, and thick areas.
Gentler than the flat concentrators.

4) Rake/Comb Nozzle

Designed to separate the coat while drying.
Helps remove loose undercoat and dead hair.
Particularly useful on double-coated breeds during coat change.

* For drop coats, I'd recommend:

Use the rake nozzle (4) on a lower setting to get air to the skin.
Follow the coat growth, not against it.
Line brush while drying.
Finish with a concentrator or stand dryer while brushing through.
