Visitors at a wildlife park were left crying with laughter after a giraffe pulled off what might be the funniest animal moment caught on camera this year.
It started when one giraffe leaned over toward a nearby guest and unexpectedly lifted a wig straight off the visitor’s head. Before anyone could react, the giraffe turned around and carefully placed the wig onto another giraffe standing nearby.
Photos taken seconds apart show the second giraffe casually wearing the wig as if nothing unusual had happened, while the first one appeared to step back and admire the result. Witnesses said the entire scene happened so quickly that people nearby froze before bursting into laughter.
The images quickly exploded online, with thousands of people joking that the giraffes looked like they had rehearsed the prank beforehand. Others pointed out how oddly calm the “wig-wearing” giraffe seemed, almost like it knew exactly what was going on.
Experts say giraffes are more curious and socially intelligent than many people assume, and playful interactions between them are not uncommon — although this level of comedy is definitely harder to explain.
