Never underestimate an underdog!
"I see you, mama. I see you continously give your time, energy, and patience to our barn kids like they were your own. You are the mucker of stalls, the brusher of tails, the sprayer of sheen. The friend. The picker of hooves. The carrier of saddles. The trainer. The pusher of wheelbarrows. The organizer of tack. The schleper of horses. The wiper of boots. The braider of manes. The coach. The cheering squad. The fetcher of numbers. The backer of giant trailers. The maker of perfect buns. The expert pep talker. The teacher. The horse groomer. The carrier of saddles. The motivational speaker. The polisher of hooves. And so much more.
Thank you for all you do every day. But especially today! And we especially thank your for sacrificing your Mother's Day for our kids! Happy Mother's Day!"
Sometimes we may forget how many hats we wear as horse trainers and riding instructors, and how influential we are in our students' lives. And days like this, working a long horse show on Mother's Day weekend away from my family, I'm reminded why I have chosen this career path and how important our "barn family" truly is. 💕
Happy Mother's Day to all of the mommas out there! Especially our friends who are riding instructors and horse trainers, and everyone else who has an important role in the lives of our kids. And thank you to my wonderful students and their families who always make me feel so appreciated! 💕
Four generations in one photo! We are so very happy to have such amazing ladies as part of our barn family! 💜💜💜
Four of our talented riders participated in an intensive lesson on "Western Wednesday" aboard some of our western pleasure horses! We are looking forward to show season 2022!
Happy Valentine's Day! 💕 🤣
If you look very closely, you can find Tater Tot the pony somewhere in the small herd of our 4-H kids!
Sometimes he does bring a pony for Christmas! 🎄 Santa Claus shared a special moment with our 10-month-old daughter Madison and her new pony "Tater Tot"! We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
The Derry True Blue Trotters 4-H club made our rounds this morning, dropping off goodie baskets we put together for our first responders! We stopped at the Parkland Medical Center emergency room, the Derry NH Police Department and the four fire stations in town. Our 4-H members got to tour one of the stations, sit in a fire truck, see the equipment in the ambulance and even hold the jaws of life. We are so very thankful for everything our first responders do and we're happy to put smiles on their faces while they work on a holiday. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! 🦃
As our 2021 Show Season is about to come to an end, we celebrated the best way we knew how - by competing at the New England Horsemen's Council Equitation Finals. Not only did our competitors have fabulous rides, but they took home top honors in all of our divisions.
Courtney Lahey rode a beautiful test aboard "Last Rose of Summer" and earned Champion in the Adult Hunter Seat Equitation division.
Our three Walk/Trot Equitation riders took the top three spots, with Nori Mullin coming in third, Ivy Morgan coming in Reserve Champion, and Gia Cannamucio taking home the top honors and winning the division. This is also a bittersweet victory, as Gia and Nori will be stepping up to the cantering division next year.
A huge congratulations to these hard working riders and their incredibly supportive parents. We can't wait to see what you'll accomplish in 2022!

Over a decade ago, a little girl came to our farm to ltake her first riding lesson. From the moment she walked through the big barn doors, her face lit up as though she had just won the lottery. Right from the start it was clear to see that she had a passion for all animals and the outdoors. Over the years she rode and competed both Hunter and Western, and would happily ride any horse or pony we put her on. Even the young and (sometimes) naughty ones.
Just recently, our lovely Leah left for college. Leah is majoring in Criminal Justice at Franklin Pierce College, putting her on a fast track to become either a conservation officer or animal cruelty officer. We know whatever track she chooses, she will be successful and an asset to the animal community. We have watched her transform into the amazing young lady she is now, and wish her the best of luck on all of her future endeavors!
Team Greenwood had an exceptional show this weekend at the Deerfield Fairgrounds! Besides our regular show string, we had a few new horses that competed and we are so proud of the progress they have made with us. Congratulations everyone!
One of our littlest riders and her pony sharing a special moment at a horse show yesterday. 🥰

Sienna began her riding career at Greenwood Stables over a decade ago. She has spent her time working her way up through the ranks, learning training techniques on a variety of breeds and disciplines.
Most recently she has been spending time with her latest project "Maya", and we're happy to say that they will be hitting the show arena soon! This mare came to us with a checkered past, but is making huge strides in both her health and performance. We look forward to seeing this pair hit the show ring! 🖤

Our summer campers had a blast at the farm today! They got to ride bareback, were judges at a horse show, spent lots of time grooming and braiding, learned parts of the horse and played a fun game! 🐎 If anyone would like to join us, we have limited availability left in our August 2-6th week, all other weeks have filled.
Fun Fact #1: Horses don't eat candy bars. (A phrase I never thought I'd have to publish, but let me explain...)
Over the past few weeks we have asked countless people to stop feeding our horses, not let their kids pull on their manes or stick their fingers in their eyes, and have even picked up candy bars that had been tossed in their paddocks. We actually had to explain to a group of adults once that letting their toddlers run around in the paddock with two 1,200+ pound horses wasn't a safe idea. (We may have had to put a few dollars in the swear jar that day...🤦♀️)
Just as you would not like random strangers showing up at your house and feeding your children snacks, please respect our wishes and don't do the same to animals who are unfamiliar to you. Even if they give you those sad puppy dog eyes, (which they have mastered - photo for reference,) you must dig deep and resist the urge to give in! Feel free to watch them from the roadside all you want. But our farm is private property, and we do live here with our family, so please be respectful.
Fun Fact #2: We GLADLY offer free scheduled tours of our farm so your entire family can meet our horses and donkeys. Please contact us at 603-231-1237 to schedule an appointment around our busy lesson program. (But seriously, please be smart and don't feed or touch animals you don't know. We want everyone to leave here with the same amount of fingers you arrived with.)
