Once again Resurrection Life Food Pantry will provide complete Thanksgiving meals to all of our clients and it's super easy for you to help.

Pack one, two, or ten brown paper bags with the following items in EACH bag. We will then add the fresh vegetables and whole turkey to be distributed for Thanksgiving.

Bags can be dropped off at the pantry November 2 - 5 from 10am - 12pm or Thursday the 5th from 5:30 - 7pm

Such an important reminder!!

Buying a puppy of any breed while not being willing to put in the time & effort to raise it right is a mistake plain and simple. Ultimately, it's the dogs that suffer in that equation.

Serious post alert🚨

Not all dogs love grooming. In fact, many down right hate it.

There can be a lot of stress & anxiety associated with grooming. Not unlike a child getting dropped off for his first day of school.

That said, try as we may, some dogs simply fear going to the groomer. If your dog is nervous or afraid and is coming for grooming, PLEASE make sure your dog is in a well fitting collar or harness AND on a regular/non retractable leash. Small dogs can be in a carrier.

This week, there have been three dogs who backed out of poorly fit (loose) flat buckle collars attached to retractable leashes in the parking lot. Not only is this insanely dangerous for the dog at risk of being hit, it causes panic in the dog (who we then have to groom), and it puts all of us in danger of being injured trying to catch the dog as we try to stop traffic on a VERY busy street.

Thankfully, all are fine, but this type of situation is totally avoidable!!

In addition to properly fitting equipment, working on handling at home with positive association, working on noise sensitivity at home with positive association, visiting the shop just for treats or more frequent short appointments can all help reduce your dogs anxiety.

Working with dogs brings highs & lows. Thankfully, the highs are plentiful & the lows are few and far between. However, there is no point lower than the moment I get word a beloved pup has crossed the bridge. It's bound to happen, considering I've worked with many of you for 11 years, but it never gets easier.
This week has been rough. Rest easy Chloe, Dora, & Jack. You each hold a special place in my memories & I was glad to know you💔
